Tips on how to play CTF

Alright so I'm kinda bored rn looking at the forums and I was like HEY THERES A SECTION FOR GUIDES so why not

I am an offensive and defensive player. These are my tips for CTF and how I do it.

We're working with free classes for the sake of the majority.

Offense​

Soldier Capping​

• YOUR SWORD IS YOUR FRIEND OK wall climb, I dont remember if its hard to learn or not but once you get the hang of it, it should get easier to swoop in onto a flag room when no one's looking for someone flying above
• Sometimes, there are many people guarding the flag. Inside a high ceiling flag room, try to stay more to the ceiling to avoid hits. You may get shot by the pyro but as long as you stay out of reach from that axe you'll do fine. Try to drop near the flag for about a second or less. You may get one hit but zoom out of there fast to find a place to steak. I normally steak mid-wall climb but if you're not as skilled just find a safe area on top of something.
• IF it is too hard to get inside the flag room alone, either go with friends or crouch outside. Let someone else go in first. While the guards in the flag room are distracted by your team mate, run in quickly and grab the flag. Before the guards reach you, fly up with your sword and run away

What to do while you're being chased with the flag as a soldier:​

• WARNING THIS WILL MAKE MANY PEOPLE HATE YOU and get salty (because it will make it very hard to recover.)
• Look out in front of you. Pearls and the purple particles show that there is a ninja around you. Keep running and as soon as you see this get to higher ground. The more a ninja pearls the less health they have so if they do catch up to you it should be an easy kill.
• THERE MAY BE PYROS. Pyros like to shoot arrows and try to recover off of you. Once you do get hit by this, get to water quickly or get to higher ground.
• Assassins will come after you as well. The best way to prevent this is not run on the ground. I like to stay on higher ground as much as possible so I'm assassinated.
• Find cover if there are archers. DONT RUN IN A STRAIGHT LINE. Mix up what directions you go in so its hard to figure out where you're going to be next. Do this by moving left and right while moving forward.
• KEEP RUNNING dont ever stop because you dont want the people recovering to catch up to you.
• Try to find other team mates that will help you with whoever is chasing you. Run into crowds of your team mates, run by the spawn as well. You're bound to get someone to help out.

Medic Capping​

• One of the harder ways to cap because golden armor is almost exactly like leather.
• I'd recommend this if its too hard to cap as a soldier. (Due to pyros)
• It's best you stay out of sight until you grab the flag. Actually, all classes should stay out of sight so they arent hit by steve heavies (lol)
• WEBS are your friend.
• It's best you dont go in on a flag room with 6-8 people sitting inside waiting.
• ONCE YOU GET THE FLAG RUN LIKE HELL seriously. Turn around and block the entrance you exit from and cover that baby with cobwebs. Once you're outside and people are chasing you, COB WEB THE HELL OUT OF THEM
• just cobweb and run like hell

Heavy Capping​

• What I like to call f**k this s**t its too hard to cap any other way
• Only use if you can pvp WELL. If you're bad at pvp I wouldn't reccomend
• Because of your armor, it should make running into a flag room easier. I like to take out the ninjas first and then the higher up classes. Whenever you being hit in a group, go for the weakest class armor to kill first.
• Once you get the flag, run.

Honestly if nothing is working, I'll go defense and wait till another person can cap while I prevent the other team from capping.

Defense

I would recommend Heavy if you don't have any premium classes. Heavies deal more damage and can take more as well. If there is no medic though in the flag room, being a medic is more important to heal everyone in there than being a heavy.

Heavy Defense​

• Alright so kids lets learn about flag guarding defense
• Flag guarding is not so easy if you don't know what you're doing. I use to be more of an defensive player back in the day long time ago due to the fact no random players like me defended.
• NINJAS LIKE TO HIDE This means keep an eye on the flag. Do NOT stand in the flag because this makes it hard to see the ninjas since they can easily hide inside of you or whoever is there.
• SO LETS REMEMBER DONT STAND IN THE FLAG
• Keep an eye on everything. Look everywhere but stand in one spot which is next to the flag. If you're the only one down there make sure you're shifting so you can surprise whoever comes down.
• Never just stare in one direction. Look in every way the enemy can come inside the flag room. (I guess you can think of it like FNAF, keep checking everything and everywhere
• TO BLOCK ASSASSINS BLOCK YOUR SWORD. The moment you see them come in block your sword for about 2-3 seconds and then attack since their assassinate has worn off.
• Keep players away from the flag. Try to keep knocking them back from getting the the flag pickup proximity. That will make it easier for the recoverers to recover.

PVP TIPS IN GENERAL​

• It took me a long time to get good at PVP and today I still can get tired after a few games and mess up so its okay if you're not a pro right away. Practice makes perfect.
• If you're attacking someone keep clicking your mouse and never stop. I like to mid hit steak quick.
• STEAKS HEAL ABOUT 4 HEARTS so dont spam it. Save your steaks.
• Get behind the player you're attacking. Try to get out of the way of the sword as much as possible by moving around
• Move around the get away from their hits.
• I would suggest getting good at maneuvering your avatar and mouse
• I don't know what else to add here but I may add more later
