AMA Ask me stuff (Doges)

A) I honestly don't know why, but when I first talked to you it felt like we had so much in common and you were really friendly. I've continued keeping in contact with you, and don't regret that one bit.

B) There's a few building projects that are going around right now. The main one in the past week or so was the Christmas map for the event that happened a couple days back. Right now, there's 1-2 things left to do on WildWest since the map got corrupted and needed to be fixed/redone. After that, we're probably going to focus on another project that I had in mind (info not released to public).

No, the whole build team making a map for war will most likely never happen. What will and does happen is that certain members happen to be working on their own individual maps, and some of those are intended to be for war. In general, larger projects and tasks that would be difficult or impossible to complete on their own are assigned to the build team. There's a few reasons for this. The first is that on more spaced out and larger projects, each person can build their own part in pretty much their own style, and not interfere with another persons. This becomes a problem with keeping the same theme throughout one town if multiple people are working on that said town, and becomes negligible if there's a town built differently than the one 500 blocks away. The other reason is that not every build team member plays war to understand the mechanics. Projects like these are often best left for the community to complete, since they have the best knowledge of the gamemode.

Not sure what you mean, but there were build team party maps for the new gamemodes implemented about two months ago. If you're talking about user submitted maps, they usually need to be up to that standard to be added in.

Every server has the JMOD system implemented into it, with the exception of creative. This will most likely mean that, yes, wild west will have jmods. For part 2, people should wait until the prefix is released, which is usually available when a gamemode gets most of its bugs fixed. It's probably best to talk to cuddled in regards to this.

Definitely not in my eyes. The gamemodes are getting way more coder attention on brawl than on MCPVP, and 2 out of the 3 gamemodes had their playercounts rise dramatically (CTF and BUILD) from the amounts on MCPVP. HG, the gamemode I am assuming you're talking about, has a wonderful coder dedicated to bug fixes in the gamemode. What I think is really happening is that people are still nostalgic for the MCPVP rules and policies, rather than getting used to brawls. However, when one thinks about it, the MCPVP gamemodes would be long gone if it wasn't for this takeover, so I'd personally be willing to adapt to a couple new policies to play what I like.

A) An active streamer. Regardless of any controversies behind BBH as a person, his streams were always really fun to play in (at least for me). Brawl seems to be lacking this this department, and it would be awesome if someone could begin to actively stream and host events. I know way2 used to do events and streams, but now that he resigned, the special occasions are pretty far apart (Halloween HG tourney and Holiday event, both which I missed).

B) The hardest thing to get used to was probably the heightened amount of requests of people asking me to do something. As a player, not many people come to you for problems for mostly obvious reasons. In my first few weeks, I found it difficult to keep track of each persons request. This later became easier with time, but still stands as the hardest thing.

Here's the short (relatively) reasoning behind it: First off, a couple of brawl moderators thought that I was a mod that had their rank glitched. This was a big motivator as it showed that I had obviously met the maturity requirement since otherwise people wouldn’t be thinking that. Next, I also met the activity requirements easily since it was the summer time. Finally, some staff controversies were going around at the time with MCPVP mods resigning, and I wanted to see how true those were. I decided to give the system a shot and got accepted.
