What is the true definition of Spellspam

Spellspaming in matches means you can't point damage at the flag and hold right click, which is fair. However, the community needs to stop complaining constantly about mage. It's not that much of a big deal that mage can keep you at bay for a little. Just avoid the mage, and unless you're fighting me or chikincows or somebody like that you probably won't suffer much. However, I agree that the damage spell could use a little less damage and a lot more spell.

Or somebody in a small hallway, or somebody fighting any class that they manage to successfully keep pointing at, or who they've frozen, or set on fire, or outran enough to have healed themselves to full health for the umpteenth time.

 

Guys, Mage is really kind of easy to avoid. Turn around and go another way. Or go around them. Yes, you will die on occasion. Such is the nature of PvP. Yes, Mage needs a nerf. But no, it does not need obliteration.

 

I think there is a definition to spellspam, and that most people link up using the damage spell 3 times as spam. Most mages I see are very good about using all of the spells and utilizing the class to its full potential. However, I believe spellspammers do exist. This is the person who has their finger on the right mouse button all the time. When they see a person, they just back up and keep on holding down the button. I think we've all seen a person like this, you wonder if they even know that they have other spells. But calling every mage a spellspammer when 98% of mages aren't is obsurd. (For example, I am a major spellspammer :3)

 

Funny, most mages back up, I normally slowly retreat and then charge into the person.

No... That wasn't the point. My point was, a person who backs up indefinetly, no charging forward, and they only use the damage spell.

You just admitted that mage is balanced because people don't have to be hit by it, bud.

It's like saying that you don't have to worry about enemy soldiers because their guns can't kill you if you don't get hit.

 

Exactly. Why worry about enemy soldiers when you can disengage, go around, and achieve the objective?

Of course people's opinions on the definition of "spellspam" vary greatly, but it does exist in whatever form you choose. As far as whether it's valid to be applied to most mages, I would say not. It's mainly a matter of how very annoying it is to take the damage of a diamond sword from a distance, and to have strafing and running away do little to avoid that.

Spell spam, in matches atleast, is spam on a fixed point (flag, entrance, hallway etc..)
