Medic has so many abilities based on combat it could be a stand alone class without the healing. It feels like someone made a class then was like "oh it can heal ppl 2 lol." Sharpness on a sword? One of the best steak to armor ratios in the game? Ability to negate one of the strongest defense class main ability? Natural SELF regeneration? A way to block fall damage? I recently brought my friend who has never played, onto ctf. After his first game with medic he says "I think I did something wrong I got 20 kills..." Why does a class that has the strongest support abilities in the game by far, also appear as the 2nd most capped as class? CTF has always relied on the idea that every class should have an equal solo survivability to every other class. This is one of the main problems with medic. A class with that good of support should be destroyed in any 1v1. Medic should not have 70%(Ratio in relation to the amount of hearts and dps each class has against eachother assuming perfect steaking and hits at exact same time) of the survivability as the "tank" class in the game, and still have all these other abilities.

My solution to fix medic is to get rid of all medic steak, and instead have health boost to give a total of 20 hearts. This eliminates any tank aspect the medic would have had before, but promotes helping the team and generally requires teamwork to get anything done at a good speed. The no steak was made so that medic cannot simply stay in combat for that long, but buffing defense as medic can heal off a lot more damage from attack to attack than it did before.

Yes I realize this is a drastic solution but medic shouldn't be considered the "they have a good pyro let me play the fire resis class" and should be focused more on killing the other team by healing your own team.

EDIT: Try making the best of medic in game today with 0 steak and 10 hearts. It works surprisingly well if you play differently. I didn't do too well as 1 person with barely 2kd, but if you count the number of people i healed that lead to kills my kd was easily 6+

20 hearts and no steak is pretty terrible. If this is about the class being able to withstand many different mechanics, why not nerf some of its strong points instead of the whole class? Fire res op against pyro? Take the fire res away. Health pool too large? Decrease the # of steak/amount of time it takes to regen. You don't have to disintegrate a class into a pile of ashes in order to make it balanced.

Maybe instead, allow medic to catch fire but not take any damage from it. I thought of this, it would allow it to be more balanced of a capping class and not break every pyro in the game.

In my opinion, just remove the sharpness. The class is meant to be supportive, currently a medic can easily beat a chemist, and split with most heavys.

Just for your info (I'm a medic main), medic really isn't as easy as you think, armor:
Medic has the second lowest armor of the game, but yes it has 6 steaks, the weapons which could in fact attack a medic are:
Every sharpness adding 1.25 extra damage to each hit.

So ninja does 4+1.25x4= 9 hearts of damage, and medic 4+1.25= 5.25, the damages being lowerded by the ctf code means that ninja normally takes 3 hits of a medic to die. Mostly a defense has 2-4 ninjas, sometimes a medic, mostly a pyro (also inflicting damage with his bow), a medic can't kill all those defenders without being very skillfull, if you look at the damage output of the classes yourself.

Going on to the self-regen, look, medic being an hard class to be good at (as you say above^), also has self-regen, but this regen doesn't really do much in an 1 to 1 close combat fight, you don't have time to regen, so this only works when you already got out of a crowd of people // an 1 to 1 fight.

Also, the non-falldamage isn't as easy as you think, if fighting someone (doing the objective of the game, capture the flag) it's hard to, and use your cobwebs in fight, and also (so called) mlg cobweb afterwards, because you can't just cobweb spam the ground to stay alive, this also takes skill (aim).

Last but not least, your idea would definitely ruin the point of all classes being able to do multiple roles, this would only lower the amount of new people trying out medic and would higher the amount of people choosing, let's say: archer, or maybe heavy and soldier, because those classes can do better jobs at what most new people want, kills a/o capturing.

Hi this is Admiral_Munson. I'm typing this message for @TOM_SAYS because he was reading it as a guest and he really wanted to respond to it. We are currently communicating telepathically. An angel from the fifth dimension of Boogerland gives me sticky notes every five minutes on what Tom has to say. His name is Fred. He's a cool guy. Used to play football. Now he watches the Seahawks on God, god, and, more god TV, the lucky devil.

    Anyway, back to @TOM_SAYS:

Drunken Fool, Titus the Roman Dude; Verse 9.

Leviathon is a spirit I have battled as well. It was a hard battle but was won. It was about four months or more ago. My wife and I were in McDonalds and were having a conversation with an angel and Leviathon had come up. I told the angel that i wanted to fight this demon and he said I could. On the way back to the hotel I asked the angel if he could bring the demon to a predestinated place and he said yes. I figured that since Leviathon was from the depths of the sea he would be used to the cold water so I filled the tub up with scalding hot water and blessed the water. The angels (there were two now) brought Leviathon bound to the tub and fought with me. We all pulled our swords from our hips and began running this demon through with all my strength and everything I had. I would say it took atleast half an hour or more. We were all spent but the battle was won.

Hope that cleared a couple things up for ya!

A few issues I found with your post Daniel. Medic has the second lowest type of armor. However if you're talking CTF specifically its somewhere in the middle due to ninja/assassin and the three classes with leather armor. Referring to the damage the sword does, that is health nor hearts. 1 health = 1/2 a heart, therefore the disparity is not nearly as large as you'd believe. Regarding medic's regen, it is fast enough to negate flag poison, which deals 1.5 hearts of damage every 15 seconds, when fighting classes other than ninja/assassin fights are bound to often last 15 seconds or longer, and in a 1v1 any extra health is great. Along with this, you can easily back off and regen using your cobwebs to stall your opponents. On your point about mlg cobwebbing, its pretty easy due to the fact that there is no punishment to throwing quite a few cobwebs to make sure you land in one as you can just immediately break them once you land so you are no longer stuck.

I do however agree with your point of classes needing to be viable in different roles, but with this said I think medic's clear cut #1 role should be as a supportive class.
