    While I'm under the understanding that for the most part people who play this game tend to understand the roles that each class plays through trial and error, or non-direct peer pressure, however there may be individuals who have different views on how each class should affect the game with it's performance. So for the sake of attempting to end the lull in discussion here with something that could be potentially interesting, here's how I want it to work. (I do understand that a lot of classes can be very diverse in their roles, however they all specialize in one particular role that they were made for in the first place.)

    Post the roles that you see each class performs currently.

    Post the roles that you would prefer each class performs.

    I'm just going to not do what you asked me to and tell you how I use classes in maybe not so common ways o;

    I like to go soldier recover off of many classes (specifically soldier) because of the nice mobility and catching up to people without having a low health pool like ninja. I can consistently deal damage and usually win my 1v1's because the flagholder is usually damaged already. It also works for me to hit medics away from the flagholder (or vice versa) in about 50% of the time. Recovering headshots and alike is also a nice bonus.

    Ninja offense support is another role I like to play. Fairly common in matches, I know, but apart from them I rarely see it. What could be more effective against that recov ninja or assassin than another ninja? Easily played cheaply by just running alongside the flagholder invisible, especially if the flagholder is a medic.

    Archer - sniping random players to piss off the other team, snipe the flag carrier to unleash rage upon the other team

    Medic - support, someone please make a medic guide which tells them to hit players, TWICE.

    Soldier - offensive/capping

    Heavy - defence/capping

    Assassin is recov and helps offense
    Elf is midfeild
    Mage is everything but best at mid
    Chemist is support
    Necro is useless
    Engi is support
    Pyro is recov
    Dwarf is defense

    Archer is 25 Kill Streak, who care about the roles?
    Ninja is either 30 Kill Streak or I keep dying!
    Assassin is recov and getting kill in 1v1 straight on.
    Elf is Oh no someone is chasing me I better fly away all the way to spawn.
    Mage is I like to chase someone everywhere until they die
    Chemist is no one kill me even at their spawn!
    Necro is Take a Block of Space Control
    Engineer is I'm going to put this turret right next to their flagroom
    Pyro is Flag Control
    Dwarf is Defense

    Medic is Support at Mid and Flag
    Heavy is Opposing Side Control
    Soldier is Capping
    Archer is Map Control
    Ninja is Recov and Friendly Side Control
    Assassin is Recov, Flag Control and Flank Control
    Elf is Randy
    Mage is Mid but not Enemy Flag Control
    Chemist is Opposing Side and Flag Control
    Necro is Take a Block of Space Control
    Engineer is Area Control and Support
    Pyro is Flag Control
    Dwarf is Defense

    Heavy - Defending the flag along with several others, fighting off offensive players before they get to the flagroom (the latter is more map dependent). Sometimes is useful on offense, but again, that's sorta map dependent.
    Soldier - Offensive soldier, either stealing or distracting so someone else can steal. Defensive soldier is really good on most of the maps that heavy isn't.
    Medic - Offensive Medic is really great. @ReubenS has mastered webbing people efficiently, but defensive medic is pretty good too for supporting the Pyro/other defenders in a flagroom.
    Archer - Midfielding/Defending outside of the flagroom as well as recovering if you have a recovery team behind the flagholder when they get shot. Also great for supporting flagholders once they get out of the flagroom. ^-^
    Ninja - Everything. It's really good at defending, recovering, capping/clearing/distracting, and midfielding.
    Assassin - Defensive/Recovery assassin is pretty much the best way to go. Out in midfield it often gets demolished because people see it coming. Off assassin can sometimes work though.
    Chemist - Good for pretty much everything. Although it's nerfed now, it's still pretty scary.
    Elf - Midfield, rarely capping and defending.
    Mage - Spamming OP spells everywhere (midfield)
    Pyro - Defense mainly, but offensive Pyro for clearing the opposing team's flagroom seems to be a strat now, although I dunno exactly how effective that is.
    Dwarf - Defense. Unless you're @Linkippy (Click the heart <3)
    Necro - Once it gets reworked... hopefully defense?
    Engineer - Blehhjkghdkgsljvlnj I dunno. ;-;
    Fashionista - Distracting people with their fireworks...?!????!!? Or being Ikea workers @Nohox @Xelia_ <3

    Pls don't hurt me if I forgot anything </3 I just did this for fun!

    But 1. they suck at actually killing archers with that ability, and 2. elf is surprisingly far better at capturing flags than it is at killing archers, even in it's nerfed state. Archer's role is killing everyone, including archers, so it takes the role of anti-archer; so does ninja, I suppose. But just not elf. (Unless you are very good at elf and every archer you fight is a noob.)
