Continuing from the @Lightwielder series. This story is from the perspective of the Lightwielder

I was at ground zero when the zombie virus became active. It was an accident as to how the first zombies got infected.

The infection spread quickly. Everyone that was bitten instantly turned. It was horrifying to watch people die and then reanimate. My code name is The Lightweilder (@Lightwielder ) and I am one of the most powerful mutants on the planet....during the day.

My mutation allows me to absorb the sun, similar to a solar power cell, and then expend the energy in the form or constructs, energy blasts, or nearly anything that I can imagine. I can fly, become intangible and I am nearly indestructabile....during the day.

I have a class 5 mutation and I can destroy cities....at night I am a normal guy though, unless I power myself with artificial light.

My team the Guardians was battling Sinister, the super villain whose science projects had a way of going super nova rather quickly. The team was wiped out by the zombie virus and I escaped by turning intangible.

Our battle at Sinister's lab occured at 12:05 and things have gone from bad to worse ever since. I pride myself on being a hero. I was able to contain the virus at first but there were just too many infected for me to contain all by myself.

The sun was going down and I was quickly using up my energy stores. At the rate I was expending energy, I would run out of power by 8 pm. How was I ever going to make it through the night.

I took a deep breath and looked at my watch. I saved a super villain once and he gave me the watch. His instructions were simple. Turn the dial to the left 5 turns and the watch will become a homing beacon. I looked down and turned the dial on the face of the "Blue Monster" dive watch. "Saved" might ont be the most appropiate word. I spied on him by going intangible when I found out he was dating my older super hero sister "Fireball"....

After the 5th turn, the watch projected a 3d image and I was in contact with the Evil Overlord. He asked how I was doing and how he could help. I explained the situation. I was running out of ammo and after dark I would not have enough power to fight the zombies or contain them.

His black armor covered the top of his face and when he spoke it sounded like a growl.

He told me he would be at my location in 2 hours.

I said a small prayer and hoped he would find me still living. The sun was going down and I could feel my power draining.

The srapping outside my door was disturbing.. I probably should have turned off the light but I needed to absorb as much light as possible before things went from bad to worse.

It was 7:55 pm when I heard the Overlords jet above the building. I peeked out the window into the darkness. I was a lone figure jump out of the jet and land on the ground. I recognized the armor and glow of the weapons that "Evil was in".

Four other figures jumped out of the jet. I could tell they were the Overlords Battle Bots and they were loaded with weapons for war. The best way to describe Battle Bots is that they look like Terminator robots. They were all armed. I could hear them working as a team coordinating their shots shooting the zombies. One of the Terminators stepped under a streetlight and I could tell that he was carrying large ammo boxes. They shot every zombie they could as they patroled around the building.

The wall to my left caved in, it was the Overlord. He asked if I was ok. I nooded weakly. He gave me a device that can best be described as a portable cylendar that size of a coke can. He told me it would power me up once I turned on the power button.

I clicked the power button and I could feel the warm glow of the light bomb. I was back in business...
