    Discord
Discord is an alternative communication app that is somewhat of a hybrid of teamspeak and skype but way improved! It has benefits that ts and skype would only have when combined or just not at all! Rather than going through the trouble of getting a player to host a call, there are channels that are permanently online and have dedicated servers hosting[IMG] them. Downloading discord is not required in order to use it, but can be downloaded if wanted. To get started go to discordapp.com.

    Servers

When first opening[IMG] discord or creating an account you will be asked about joining or creating a server. You can create a server or join one if a friend has given you a link to join a server. You can choose a name for your server, a server image, and what region it will be hosted in. You can change the host location later on.

Upon creating a server or joining a server you will be presented with something that looks like this. This is the basic home menu where you can view chats, join channels, see who is online, and mess around with other nifty tools and HUDS.

If you have created a server, you can increase the member count by sharing your server link! You can share your link by clicking Invite Members, then copy and paste the given link.

If you have multiple servers you can move between them by clicking on the server's icons to the very left of the HUD.

    Calling And Chatting

On the left of the home HUD you will see text channels, and voice channels. There can be multiple of each. You can alternate through text channels while in a voice channel, but can only be in one voice channel at a time. There may be multiple of both if the creator of the server wishes to add multiple. You can give ranks to players (will not be talked about in this post) that will change their permissions, some permissions act as a ban, mute, view only, etc in the server.

To join a voice channel, click on any of the available ones and you're good to go. To change text channels, click on any of the available ones and you're good to go. Really simple as that! You can mute your microphone by clicking on the microphone icon. You can also mute other people's sound by clicking the headset icon. To leave a channel, click on the phone with an x icon.

To privately chat with someone, click the 3 person outline icon in the top left and search through your friends list.
