I'd just like to point out the fact that we're all brawl players now. If you came from MCPVP or McBrawl it really doesn't matter. Find a server that makes sense to you, is fun to play, and most importantly makes you want to give back to it. A pointless argument over the attitudes of one set of players to the other is similar to some of the things we're seeing in the world at the moment. Can we please all just have a place to be together and enjoy eachother's company without having to worry about these degrading trains of thought? We're better than this.

What I don't understand is why people hate the people that saved their gamemodes from complete destruction. Sure, some would claim that Brawl has messed them up, but hey, that's better than never playing them again. Strictly identifying with the past leads to strife and posts like this one. Why not embrace the change? Things aren't going back to the way they were. If you build a wall to allow yourself to continue to live like McPvP still existed, then you will not be able to cope with the change that came with the merge and you will also keep other people out. Instead of actually getting to know who you call "Brawl noobs," who are actually really great people, you simply throw them all under a stereotype blanket and use it as an excuse to dislike them. You are hurting yourselves and others by isolating yourself from them. You aren't allowing yourself to experience Brawl at all. You are simply viewing it through a hateful lense that obscures your vision. Embrace the change and you will find yourself happier than if you hold on to the past.
I don't understand why people think that Brawl did this all. You could say that people didn't like the changes to the gamemodes since Brawl bought McPvP, but I don't think you can say that Brawl messed everything up. Ten accurately addressed this by saying,
A little gratitude would be much appreciated here. Of course, the fact that McPvP went down was horribly unfortunate, and the merge was less than ideal. However, better to merge and to continue playing than never playing again. Once again, it's not Brawl's community or the "Brawl noobs" that whatever resentment anyone feels should directed towards. Did Brawl cause McPvP to go down? No. What did Brawl do? They saved McPvP's gamemodes. Brawl saved McPvP, it didn't destroy it. Whatever happened to them afterwards isn't Brawl's fault, and it is more than made up for by the fact that they saved them in the first place.
Now before anyone uses this argument again, it's completely misplaced in the context of my post. Sure, Brawl might not be here today if not for McPvP, but I don't think anyone has ever resented the fact that McPvP helped Brawl when it could have failed. Now that Brawl helps McPvP carry on, however, people are upset about it. This is what needs to stop. I love part of what Gohabsgo said, so I will requote it here.
This is exactly what needs to stop. We need to come together far more, not shove each other apart. This goes no matter where you came from before you were a Brawler. Yes, we are all Brawlers here, not McPvPers. Distinctions such as these only separate us more. No Brawler says "I'm a former Hiver or Plexer." :v We are all one group of people now, or at least we should be. Instead of resenting the ways things are now, we should all let go of the past and continue on in the present united.

And you know this how? Brawl would get 1200 people on a school day before mcpvp came along.

The April Fools joke is now over, and there's nothing more to discuss in this thread. Both communities are a part of the same network, and it helps nobody to bicker.
