I agree. Back in the day, the wild west didn't have any of them fancy map systems :grinning:

I think it should be nurfed so you can see sheriffs and rogue players only like the sky kit from hardcore games

@RMST1 then sheriffs must find a new way to catch people.

Oh yeah nice, making the sheriff their jobs even more difficult. Sounds amazing, thank you.

    - limit tracker to like a few hundred blocks
    - hide sheriffs from tracker
    - add rogue tracking (although we might make
it so you can track them all across the map)

    ez pz

I suppose the navigator should be removed as well then...?

This would be the optimal solution. A lot of people like the tracker how it is currently and don't want it to be rogues only. This seems like an ideal compromise. +1
That was a rhetorical question he directed to that snarky scrub yoshi. :v No worries.

Allow it to track players by what safe zone they were in last. Also make rogue last longer, rogues can't be tracked but their last safe zone location sticks. Make a black market for these players, and a wagon so they can go to other areas, wagons are more $$ and take longer. Make living as a rogue player hard and dangerously fun. They want to stay out of safe zones. Also if a rogue player enters a town, the sheriff knows about it.

Maybe remove it from the bandits AND sheriffs, however, sheriffs should be able to track if someone is illegally doing something. To make this easier to understand, Sheriffs should track bandits doing illegal things. (processing, robbing etc.)

If you made it so sheriffs could track illegal activity it would beyond OP. The whole point of sheriffs is to look around for illegal activity not just go there where it is showing them.

The tracer should only notice the sheriff in what area the bandit is, such as a 50-100 block radius. The bounty and / or rogue could also matter.

The tracker gets rid of the ability to sneak up on people in situations in which you would normally be able to go a stealthy route. When I'm alone, I usually sneak everywhere, and that is what keeps me safe. With the player tracker, I can almost never have the advantage of stealth.

The ability to sneak around to stay alive is what attracted me to Wild West. I could be more of a tactician and think things through logically when people didn't know where I was. The reason I don't play WarZ is because of the compass telling you if people are near. I can't get the jump on people in that game.

Please give us the final version of the Tracker asap, do not leave us waiting in limbo with a less than ideal setup. We would hate to see another server reset because of more poorly implemented game mechanics/infrastructure.

I agree with you Yoshi, but here is my thoughts on this.

    @Signatured

I do believe that it should show where the rogue killed a player. Such as this "Arcane killed <Player 1>, <coords>" then lets say 2-3 minutes later if I'm still rogue "Arcane killed <player 2>, <coords>. This gives the player some time to leave before all the sheriffs/rogue hunter come to kill them. Although if they are camping a rebel base to process this would make them sitting ducks and makes people not want to kill all the time if processing. This would be due to a increase chance of encountering a sheriff and the probably of a lot more people being there to hunt you down and kill you. Now this won't show up if you go rogue only when you successfully kill a person as a rogue.

Off topic from what I said above, but you also said this in this thread @Signatured

Now I think rogues being a KOS is kinda bad due to the fact if someone shoots at you and you hit him first they don't go rogue, but you do. Thus you get KOS'd by a sheriff for self defense, although making it a AOS (Arrest on Sight) is the same thing as you lose all your stuff still if you can't pay the bounty. Either way I see it you lose stuff so what ever right?

Personally not a fan of the player tracker. It removes the fun of being sneaked up/sneaking up on someone and in my opinion is way too OP. Even making it a rouge tracker IMO is still too OP. Maybe just a tracker for sheriffs ONLY targeting rouges.

I've been in a lot of situations today in mines in which a player would run at me with a dagger after I told them I'm friendly, they do not stop charging and swinging at me, I shoot them, then I become the rogue. Not only am I then visible to anyone on their compass, but I have to explain to any sheriff coming after me that I wasn't trying to attack them, and all I can do is hope that the sheriff doesn't arrest me. As one would expect, a sheriff can't go off on your word alone, so they arrest you.

It's hard to say whether or not to get rid of the tracker altogether, because there are many LEGITIMATE rogues who always kill on sight who should be able to be tracked when they're on a killing spree.

All that being said, I liked the days when people weren't tracked whatsoever, though having a rogue tracker isn't too terrible, it only sometimes makes people look like rogues when they were really just defending themselves.

Woah, attack someone and all sheriffs around the world will come to you whittling compass needle in your direction.

Tfw no nearby players in Bandit Tracker and somebody attacks you with 0 Bounty. Greetings, @DeCasperr
