They really need to hire more people who are active when America is sleeping. In the US, playing at 3 AM means 0 sheriffs (almost always - there have been exceptions). While it's night for me, it's only evening or morning for players in different places. These players almost never encounter sheriffs.

As for sheriff guns being powerful, they're meant to be that way. Sheriffs are easy to kill if you don't just rush at them. Use your brains. Sheriffs rarely sneak around, so you can see them coming. Use stealth. Sheriffs aren't that privy to what's around them due to the fact that when you have better weapons, you tend to be less cautious of your environment. Sheriffs also aren't meant to kill on sight, meaning that you can pop the first shot(s) off.

I could recruit the worst player to 2v1 against a sheriff with me, and the sheriff has no chance. Just use a little bit of tactic, and you'll win sheriff gunfights. Sheriffs are made to be powerful to stop crime. If they had guns like the T-gewehr they would be destroyed constantly by teams, especially since the sheriff doesn't have the right to shoot first.

You're focusing too much on the argument of "sheriffs are powerful, and thus unfair", which is flawed in of itself, for basic reasons stated above. I could elaborate more, but I find it unnecessary as you're probably just going to keep complaining about how OP they are.

From what I understand, robbing a conductor is often over before a sheriff can reach the station. Unless there happens to be a sheriff in the area already (or a sheriff waiting for a robbery and not actively pursuing other criminals), it's unlikely you will be caught.

I formed this opinion based on my own entirely successful conductor robberies, and the frustration sheriffs have mentioned regarding their ability to promptly respond to robberies.

I don't think we have too many or too few sheriffs. I am sure there is a ratio that Roke/staff has in mind for players to sheriffs, and it seems to be decently balanced considering all the factors he has to take into account.
