Really? A year long mute is worth over something that happens all the time? I think you should get mods to justify if it was actual/legitimate before having the chat filter go out and mute everyone for a year.

 

The situation had been resolved.

 

I'd expect something like this to get at max a day... But that's none of my buisness

You weren't alone. If you stay active in-game and on Forums for like 2 months you will be unmuted.
Advertising gets you muted for a year if they think your only intent on Brawl is too advertise, however if they don't think it is, then it's a week. Just stay active for 8 weeks and show them your not just an advertiser, and then appeal. I made it 4 months before I discovered that @tallscot only got muted for a week when he advertised

Advertising is a serious thing to do. It's mainly for doing something like join [Server]! IP: [something].
A year is quite generous compared some other servers, which usually mute you permanently.

 

Some servers BAN you permanently

 

That's how extreme people can take it.
They literally don't want you on the server because you Advertised. That is only on a few servers thankfully.

You're totally right, it's a serious offence and shouldn't be taken lightly! They should have their minecraft accounts erased by Mojang.

Maybe it's because I come from Mcpvp where it was so loosely goosey but a permanent mute without a warning? That's just insane

You shouldn't have you account blocked @Gohabsgo , as it's just advertising not illegal, but most servers don't like it. I got permanently muted on HiveMC without being warned when I had a past history of 3 mutes for swearing. However that's how I got back to Brawl, so

 

Make vote but next time dont advertise or do something silly willy
