Actually the U.S. has made a fortune out of making the Middle East as unstable as possible. Hence the completely unnecessary Operation Desert Storm (against the Iraqi Army that wasn't there), the Iraq War, the installment of U.S. business friendly President Hamid Karzai (he was instrumental in the implementation of an oil pipeline that U.S. businesses wanted) in currently unstable Afghanistan, the U.S.'s longtime financial and military support for the illegal, apartheid state of Israel, and President Obummer's infamous drone strikes at weddings, schools, hospitals, and other terrorist gathering sites coinciding with record profits for the relatively new Homeland Security industry and the defense contractors.

The U.S.'s financially incentivized foreign policy adventurism and policing in the Middle East have definitely not made it a better place. Look at ISIS. You cannot say that their creation and subsequent gaining of half of Iraq and parts of Syria had nothing to do with the utterly bullsh*t Iraq war (which was also responsible for destroying the fragile Iraqi economy and infrastructure for years to come, all while capturing virtually no terrorists or WMD's). It had everything to do with it. And now, we are watching the result of many decades of U.S. neoconservative policy towards the Middle East play out in dangerous stereotyping of Muslims, horrific terrorist attacks (often perpetrated by ISIS) in Europe, Syria, and Libya (and even in Afghanistan and Pakistan), and extreme instability in most countries in that region of the world.

Sadly, candidates like Hillary Clinton (a right wing hawk on foreign policy) and Donald "I will bomb the sh*t out of ISIS" Trump will almost certainly stay the course on our current Middle East policy and may even take it to a far greater extreme, possibly with future mass troop deployments (President Obummer has been relatively levelheaded compared to both of them or dubya) into countries like Syria or Libya where law and order is almost nonexistent. If that is the case, prepare for another Iraq at the least, or potentially a situation more closely resembling Vietnam where billions of U.S. dollars will go to fund another pointless war in a country that doesn't want us there instead of funding things of actual importance such as education, universal healthcare, and (viable) renewable energy sources.

Yah, because liberals have this mentality that guns have souls and actually KILL people.

NO. In a sense, guns DO kill, but it's not by it's own "will", because it doesn't have any.

People with bad intentions with guns KILL.

And if it is easy for crazy people to get a gun, they kill. And just so you now, you will look as stupid as a gun if you argue against the facts i have alredy presented in this thread. Even though facts have a well known liberal bias.

    But you aren't understanding this.

I understand what you're trying to say, that guns infact DO KILL PEOPLE. I get it. I see your meaning!

But what you don't seem to understand is that these guns don't have their own triggers to pull. Somethingr has to forcefully push on a trigger for it to shoot. I will bring it up again that a gun has no soul, and you need something or someone for it to do something

Jesus Christ, you seem to be not a very stupid person from what I've seen of you, but you're being incredibly dumb right now. We're not contesting that guns don't randomly shoot people. We're not claiming guns are sentient and actually kill people. You're an idiot if you think we think that. All we're saying is, why give these incredibly dangerous killing machines to every citizen? Or make them available for every citizen? People are gonna get hurt, and they have. You seemingly can't rebut this argument so you go back to this irrelevant idea that "guns don't have souls" which you seem to take means that we should let people have freaking sub-machine guns?

    This.

I don't claim to be an expert on US foreign policy but you seem to be the only person on this thread who really understands what a mess America has made.

@ChikenFriedReich Because no matter what you enforce on something, there will be loopholes to get it.

Sure, gun control laws will decrease the amount of guns that an average person can get, but think about the black market, and all the other alternatives of obtaining these weapons even with gun control.

Yeah there will always be a black market, but it will at least DECREASE the ability of people to get guns. There's a reason we call it gun control and not gun elimination. And can I just say it's worked quite well in Europe, Australia and here in NZ.

    Gun Control still does HARM.

I'm going to bring in a scenario that Mr. Trump likes to bring up a lot. In the San Bernardino shooting, a husband and wife went on a mass shooting at some company they worked at. They killed 14 people if I'm not mistaken. But he always says something relevant to this...

"This would been A LOT less worse if there were guns pointed on the opposite side..."

There is a report from the CDA that about a range of a possible 3 MILLION people have self defended with guns per year.

Also, that graph shows that gun control hasn't really done much in terms of homicides, and infact, did harm. Both the 1905(ish) and the gun law after JFK was assassinated INCREASED the rates of homicides. Even alcohol prohibition had a role lol.

EDIT: I'm a bean, that axe thing is likely not true lol.

There were people with guns in the Orlando shooting. They didn't do anything. My question is, how can you trust average citizens with little-to-no training to handle a dangerous firearm in a stressful situation?

Also, in my country, we have virtually no gun massacres, I can't think of any. And we have quite good gun control. What do you say to that? My country is New Zealand by the way.
