Introduction

Originally intended as a server to make maps for game modes, MinecraftBuild has evolved into its own creative community where you can make friends, collaborate with others on projects, and design your own world. Whether you're a WorldEdit wizard or just a beginner learning the ropes, we'd love to have you join us on the server.

On Build players can create their own 512x512 maps with unique ID numbers and customizable names. Maps can be either a completely empty void or a flat map to start with, and flat maps have additional material options to choose from. From the very beginning all players have access to Fast Async WorldEdit - which is awesome to use once you get down some basic WorldEdit commands.

Ranks and Permissions​

All maps that a player has permissions on will show up in a menu when they type /map. If you created the map, you will be listed as the owner, and you can add additional players onto your map.
To see who has permissions on a map, use /perm.
To change the permissions of another person on your map, use the format:

/perm playername permissionlevel

Permission Levels
Banned - Gets kicked from map and cannot rejoin.
Visitor - Can access the map if it is private and can use redstone devices like levers.
Helper - Has member permissions when the owner is on the map.
Member - Can place and break blocks and use WorldEdit.
Manager - In addition to building, managers can add other players to the map.
Owner - The creator of the map, has map control.

To remove permissions, use /revoke playername
You can remove your own permissons with /revokeself

Also, DO NOT PERM PEOPLE YOU DON'T KNOW.
Perming random strangers leads to griefed maps and sadness.

Server Ranks and Maps
There are three global ranks on Brawl: VIP, MVP, and ELITE. Unranked players can create one map, while ranked players will get 2, 5, and 10 maps respectively. If you're interested in upgrading to a global rank you can get one here with all sorts of cool perks.

Command List​

Common Build Commands
If a description has a (1.8), it is currently available on the 1.8 servers, if a description has a (1.16), it is currently available on the 1.16 servers.
/play build 1 - Play on 1.minecraftbuild.com
/play build 2 - Play on 2.minecraftbuild.com
/play build 3 - Play on 3.minecraftbuild.com
/buildhub -or- /buildlobby -or- /lobby - Return to the Build lobby.
/map - Navigate to your map.
/map mapid - Navigate to a specific map.
/create - Create a new map.
/search (-or- /find) - Search for a map.
/save - Owner can save map changes and unload map.
/rollback mapid - rollsback a map to a previous save. (This can be done up to 10 times. Staff are not responsible for lost progress due to rollbacks.)
/downloadmap - Download your map.
/menu - Use the main Build menu or customize your world.
/options - Change your map settings.
/toolbox - Our toolbox of building tools.
/playmode mapid - Go to a read-only version of the map where minigames can be played. (see below) (1.8)
/tp playername - Teleport to a player.
/back (-or- /lastmap) - Teleport to the map you were previously on.
/perm - See which players have permissions on a map. ONLY PERM PEOPLE YOU KNOW.
/perm playername rank - Add players to your map.
/revoke playername - Remove player permissions.
/revokeself - Remove your own permissions from a map. (1.16)
/nearby (-or- /closeby -or- /cb -or- /nb)- See who is on your map at any given time.
/head playername (-or- /skull) - Get a player's head.
/hdb (-or- /headdatabase) - Get decorative player heads.
/mode gamemode player - Change gamemodes on your map.
/time set - Set the time for your map. Time can be locked in your map options.
/flyspeed 0-10 - Increase flying speed. (1.8)
/flyspeed 0-1000 - Increase flying speed. (It's a percentage, 100 is normal speed) (1.16)
/nv - Toggle nightvision on or off.
/mode gamemode - Change your gamemode.
/archive (twice) - Deletes a map. Warning, map is not recoverable.
/a (-or- /g -or- ! -or- /global) - Talk in global chat.
/inv <save/load/open/list/delete> [name] - Saves/Opens/Loads inventories for later use.
/mapinfo or /author - View map info, author, and privacy status.
/public - Make a map public.
/private - Make a map private.
/clear - Clear your inventory.
/spawn - Return to your map's spawn point.
/spawn set - Sets the spawn point.
/warp - View your map's warps.
/warp set name - Sets a warp.
/warp go name - Go to the warp.
/warp delete name - Deletes the warp.
/assets - Use the server's schematic database. (1.8)
/toggletp - Toggle whether or not players can teleport to you. (1.16)
/toggleglobal - Toggle whether or not you can see global chat.
//help - A list of available WorldEdit commands.
/wehelp - Our WorldEdit tutorial.
//up 0 - Get a block in a void.
//wand - Most common WorldEdit tool.
/track - Practice creating Raid trackers on Build.
//frb (user) (radius) (time) - Rollback Edits

Brawl Network Commands
/hub - Return to the Brawl lobby.
/cosm (-or- /cosmetics)- Use your cosmetic items.
/friends - Check your friends list.
/friend playername - add someone to your friends list.
/ip (-or- /server) - See which server you are on.
/report - Report a player in game.
/chatreport - Send the last 30 lines of text to staff to report a rule violator.
/censor - Adjust chat filter settings.
/ping - Check the speed of your connection to the Brawl server.
/lag - Check game speed (server lag).
/rpclear - Clear a downloaded resource pack.


Disabled Blocks
In an effort to reduce WorldEdit abuse and lag some blocks have been disabled for worldedit. Blocks include lava, non-solid blocks, and anything that could update and slow down the server.

Limited WorldEdit Command Sizes​

For similar reasons, the radius of some WorldEdit commands have been limited. These include:
//cyl (limit 100)
//hcyl (limit 300)
//sphere (limit 100)
//hsphere (limit 200)

If you //copy or //cut an area of a map, any part of the copied region that is not loaded will create a empty space when you //paste that spot.

A Build-specific reminder of the Brawl Server Rules posted here. See the full list for more details.

• Do not advertise other servers or websites.
  • This includes "Realm" servers.
• Do not distribute 18+ content, screamers, gore, or shock sites.
• Do not build anything inappropriate or offensive.
• Do not impersonate staff.
• Respect all players and staff.
  • Includes arguing with staff.
  • Includes instigating arguments between players in chat.
• Do not make threats to players or staff.
  • Includes DDoS threats, "Swatting" threats, death wishes, etc.
• Do not post hack accusations (hackusations) in chat. Report any possible rule breakers here.
• Do not spam or use excessive capital letters.
• Keep cursing to a minimum.
  • Do not bypass or attempt to bypass any chat filter.

Build Specific Rules
As pinned here in the Brawl forums, and with extra clarification below.

• No Spamming
• No Griefing
• No (Nether) Traps
• Do not exploit or abuse glitches (this includes out of map issues). Glitches should be reported to their respective forum immediately after being discovered.

2. (Situation) A player is griefing, and a Moderator catches them in the act. The Mod asks them to stop and fix the damage, and the player refuses. This player has just become eligible for punishment.

3. Chat flood
Flood Example 1:
Player 1: Dooora!
Player 2: Dooora the explorer!
Player 3: Dooora! Dooora!
Player 4: Dooora is my explorer!
(and this keeps on going...)

Flood Example 2:
Player 1: Everybody say “123 playername is building”
Player 2: 123 playername is building
Player 3: 123 playername is building
Player 4: 123 PLAYERNAME IS BUILDING
Player 5: 123 playername is building 12345678910 playername is building 123456
(etc.)

Flood Example 3:
Player 1: HEY
Player 1: SO I TOTALLY HAVE THIS ANGRY RANT
Player 1: THAT I
Player 1: WANT TO TELL EVERYONE
Player 1: ABOUT THIS OTHER PLAYER
Player 1: WITH ONLY A
Player 1: COUPLE WORDS

(player could be muted for flood, excessive caps, and possibly flaming or player harassment in this type of situation.)

4. Death wishes
Death threats or death wishes toward any player are considered serious offenses on Brawl and will be treated as such.

Also, as a reminder: Typing song lyrics, quoting others, inventing new acronym meanings, and saying "just kidding" do not make players immune to consequences of rule breaking.

Why are there AFK people on my private map? Ghost glitch, client-side bug. Relog and it will go away.

How can I get another map when I run out? You can either purchase another map slot through the Brawl store, info on that can be found here, or you can earn one through our competitions in our Build Showcases Forum.

How do I get a copy of a CTF map to rework? Contact an appropriate Build or CTF moderator for further instruction depending on which map it is.

How do I delete my map? Type /archive, twice. But heads up: you can't undo an archive, so make sure you want to delete the map beforehand.

How do I PVP on my world? Check this guide here.

How do I make a sign warp? Check this guide here.

How do I load my map on another build server? Unload it from the current server by either using /save or leaving the map for 3-5 minutes. It should unload and be available to reload on another server.

My //wand (or WorldEdit) broke. What do I do? Occasionally WorldEdit glitches out. Check which server you're on with /ip. Go to the /hub, then go back to your server. It should fix itself.

Why is lava (etc) disabled on WorldEdit? Block updates cause a ton of server lag. If a Builder+ isn't around to help and you need a work-around for a disabled block, create your build with another material and it can very easily be //replaced with the proper block later.

How do I use WorldEdit? There are some good guides available here in the forums.

A player keeps harassing me in game. What do I do? If a moderator isn't around, do /chatreport and that will send the last 30 lines of text directly to a report. You can also report the player with other evidence at brawl.com/report. Just remember to keep it cool because arguing with trolls will only escalate the situation.

Chatreport works ^^ Offenders might not always be muted instantly, but the chat offenses are still recorded and attached to player history.

 

That would be from a staff member manually handling a chat report submitted within the previous few hours.

That's what I meant by "offenders might not be muted instantly," because a staff member has to read the chat and verify that the rule was broken.

To avoid that issue, don't break rules in chat because you can still be reported whether or not a staff member is there watching.

 

I can't test this until I get on my laptop, might be a couple days. Barriers should be pickable again as far as I know, putty fixed it.
