As many of you are painfully aware, Capture the Flag often is not the most friendly of servers, with many people arguing in the in game chat, in pms, and on the forums. So I've decided to make a handy-dandy guide on how to deal with certain situations involving flame.

    Hackusations
There are always two sides to arguments. In the case of you spotting a potential hacker on a server, rather than spamming it in chat, which accomplishes nothing; The /report command will send a message to all staff online who will be able to come and handle the situation. In the case of you being accused of hacking, don't simply say "ur just bad" or "I'm just that good"; those won't get you anywhere. Instead try to ignore it and if it is serious, you can report them for spamming the chat and they might be muted based on the discretion of the staff.

    Toxic Players
CTF is home to some impressively aggregating individuals, many of whom are just out to make others upset. You'll always have those people who say "ez" every time they get a kill, or others who spam argumentative nonsense every chance they get. The only way to handle these kinds of people is to ignore them. DO NOT RESPOND. A response only encourages their behavior; if everyone ignores them they will get bored and go away.

    Issues with Specific Individuals
Everyone can name a few CTF players that they really just don't like. People may express their discontent with others through spamming of pms or targeting in game; two very nasty things to deal with. The one solution when being pmed by someone you dislike is /ignore, responding with more hate is never the answer. Dealing with targeting depends on its severity. If it's an individual just trying to annoy you, either avoid them in game or kindly ask them to stop. In the case of organized targeting by multiple people across many different CTF matches, this is considered to be bullying and should be brought up with staff as soon as possible.

No matter how much you like or hate CTF, the fact that you still play it says something. So let's all try to make our own experience and the experiences of others as fun and enjoyable as possible.

    Thanks for reading -
    Wes

There was such a command? And yes this is very true, nearly every time i log onto a game with 12 players I always see in the chat. Hey this guy is hacking! And I tell them if they believe they are hacking report them with the proof :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, sometimes players abuse /report. The first one I saw reported a guy for being awesome. Also, a lot of them come in. Sometimes one every second.

Must be a tough job, looking at the reports. It would be hard to look at all the reports and some of them might not be serious.

It is. Especially when the JMods can hardly respond to reports involving anything other than a chat-related offense.

We can kick hackers off for 1 hour, but we need to record them first and submit the video to higher up staff.

    I guess o-o
I tried recording a hacker but sometimes once they found out you know they hack. They leave, I found it very fustrating that I couldn't come up with any proof.

So there was this one person that I blocked, and they still got to msg me and send nasty stuff to me; I don't know how it happening, but it seems like the /ignore command is broken
