Help Needed

The way i got introducet to raid with a help book. In this help book i got at the start was some info about the server how it works what i cant do and the first steps. How i can set warps and how tracking works and a link to a Forum where i got more help we need somehting like tbhis for new Players i see a lot off people ask what this server is about in chat.

 

Try events. Like KOTH or something, they used to do lots of events back in SPvP 1.7 like the maze thing. Try hosting events that involve pvping and action which is what people crave. Events would definitely be something i'll get my team on to participate

 

Not like any suggestion will be implemented but...
Look at popular pvp/faction servers and learn from them(i am not saying you need to copy)

Mini events:
koth
Ctf- flag spawns near spawn or koth and players bring it to spawn or the koth. (maybe through a parkour course to stop a p4 kid capping each time)
Pretty much any event from kit map servers (such as skylandkits) only with non-op kits so spawning them in isn't an issue.(theses often only require one MOD to run the event)

Active staff te- (OK sorry was dreaming there)

An info book about the server on joining the server

No bugs/glitches

Good hit detection and knb

I agree there - At the end of last map there was a huge want mentioned both on forums and ingame of an info book or tutorial when you logged in for the first time... I see tonnes of people log on, go 'what is this?' 'how do I play?' etc. Usually no one answers, so they log off - player lost.

I was raided the first day, I was a 100k blocks out of spawn in the middle of the ground and I got raided. Lost all my stuff. -_-

 

Listen to the players! There has been countless threads asking for new features that were just ignored. (the comments under them saying it ruins the vanilla feel are pointless as raid is one Of The closest to vanilla servers and is just dead)

Boosters so raid has a chance to be profitable, maybe sell mini events in the shop and at donation goals have big events like the previous maze events.

Fix the shop to make it more like the previous shop.

Use 1.7 as raid is a pvp server

Fix the bugs

 

Reset it again, use @LegalSkateboards spawn "converged". Contract a youtuber that can make an episode every 1-2 days. Advertise the living **** into it.

OH AND DONT RUSH THE RELEASE!

 

Fix the issues, advertise the server, make warps out of spawn like /warp tutorial and have an area explaining plug-ins, commands, etc.

When ever you are and i are on at the same time, I always see you waiting at spawn for someone to kill.

I quit raid just because same reaosn as @TheMafias, we got raided but then we got raided again and it just wasn't fun. A lot of people find it a water of time spending hours doing something such as I did and then only to be raided and lose 90% of your stuff. This is exactly the reason why I quit because I couldn't be bothered to go through it again. I like the idea of raid but I just think people won't play when you just get raided all the time. Maybe there could be a way of when you get raided, your base and everything stays but the other team gets the stuff as well (so everything duplicates from the chests).

 

I understand it's a raid server but it's very frustrating. I think maybe making this into a sort of hcf thing maybe where there are 5 koths in the world (people can't set homes there), when a player takes over a month they will get 100 gold an hour and any team members will get 30 gold an hour (each hour they own the koth) this could be teeaked but because of little popularity I think it should be per hour. Also I think if raid/brawl could sorta comply with another server so work together but remain seperate servers.

 

On topic while people are throwing the 1.7 card around; is it going to help raid? If I'm looking for a MC server I'm likely going to look for one in my current version. Not one that every other server has surpassed ages ago.

 

There's also lots of glitches (pvp logging is back -_-) and it's not "Lagfree" as it should be.

 

Give it 9 months, it might have a chance of being fixed by then.

 

Things are constantly being fixed and found. Mario is working on two servers atm and is really spread thin.

 

It was a reference to Map 2 - PvP loggers took 9 months to fix despite it being reported within the first day of the glitch beginning.

 

WE NEED BOOSTS.

Period.

Like I mentioned in another thread, this game mode makes no money. No money means that issues aren't prioritized and fixed, and no fixes means that people leave.

Most of the issues on this thread can be addressed with either money or time. In my opinion, Brawl is running out of both.

 

This is what we need
We want to keep the player base alive right?
We start with getting revenue from this damned server!
We also need to advertise a ton. remember to bump the raid thing on minecraftforums.

Some youtubers we can get to help us run the server:

• XpertThief/KevinLasean: This dude had 2 vids on McWar before when he was at 1 million subscribers. The day after, the player count spiked to 400ish.
• StimpyPVP: He does this kind of stuff.
• CreepersEdge: Factions player, and repeatedly states he is bored of the claiming land thing.
