I know that, but it seems like after 41 withing 8 months, buying an unban is not really fair. imo

As you can see from this thread some players already believe the current protocol with 41 punishments and a normal ban is too strict. There will always be varying opinions on how strictly we should punish, we are trying to find the middle.

Giving them a permban instead of a ban would also mean all of their alts get banned which is too drastic for minor chat offenses in my opinion.

Most of these players though, that have over 40 punishments, are getting punished for things worse than just minor chat offenses. Most of them have death wishes, or threats on their history. If, however, someone were only committing minor offenses, like you said, then I agree, a perm-ban would be overly-strict.

As stated in the OP, players with more severe rule violations may be banned before they reach 41 punishments.

This can be easily abused because of the unban fees. unbanning twice means 120 total warnings. You should restrict access to the unban fee from people who are banned for the reason of 40 warnings.

They have 10 more chances after they've purchased an unban after they've been banned for their 40+ punishment.
    So, they actually have 60.

Also, I cant tell if this would be off or on topic (sorry in advance if it's not) but the mute for "death wishes" should be divided into to separate specific mutes. Maybe something like "direct death wishes" and "indirect death wishes," direct death wishes meaning if someone said something like "I will track you down and kill you" or "Kill yourself, you waste of air" and indirect ones meaning ones where it is unclear if the player is joking, like in my case, I said 'DIE >:}" in tdm and the player thought I was serious. But since it wasn't clear whether I was joking (but I was joking) it would fall under the category of "indirect death wishes." This is probably a stupid idea, but I think it could help tell the difference from "bad" and "good" players.

The first example you gave of a direct death wish (I will track you down and kill you) is actually a death threat, which will get you a week long ban.
On indirect death wishes, if a JMod+ is paying attention to chat, they can and should be able tell what is an ingame death threat/wish or not. The example you gave (DIE >:}) is obviously an ingame death wish. Also, saying "kys jk" is not going to excuse you from a mute
