Competitive Necro?

It would be interesting to see necro in matches, would probably be limited to 1 (since too many zombies would get out of hand) and used on inside/enclosed maps like airlock (since it would be relatively easy to get away from them as a soldier on a nice soldier map).

Probably a good idea to try a few trial matches with other teams allowing necro to see if it isn't too op/get out of hand.

 

First it needs to be seen on whether it's op for matches. Remember the Engineer rework? It improved engineer a ton from its previous state yes but it still remained relatively op to be allowed for matches. The same could apply for necro (before it would've been a suitable capping class since its very tanky)

 

In an 8v8 why would you use a necro on defense, there are better classes to choose out of your 8 players than necro.

 

You probably woulnd't use necro in an 8v8, yes, but that doesn't mean you can't use it in a 10v10. Matches don't necessarily have to be 8v8, and as gamren said, it also depends on the map itself.

 

I think competitive viability was definitely a goal of the rework. I know that I would likely use necro in matches if it were to be allowed.

 

Mandatory match rules are set in place because almost every match tends to use those rules anyway. If teams wanted to start using necro in matches, it could be removed from the mandatory match rules.

 

Agreed, necro is better on certain maps and also would only be used in large matches most likely.
