Idea Bring the old Assassin back!

It can literally instakill, does it really need a buff? It's getting reworked anyway to update to 1.8+, so the devs will probably not make this change.

 

I think assassin is in need of a rework at the moment. I don't think the current assassin is actually too far from balanced, however with the introduction of shields and removal of blocking in 1.9+ the class mechanics will need to change.

Being an assassin main myself, I am quite fond with the current assassin. Bringing the old one back would really be confusing for people that main assassin, such as myself, and take a long time getting used to. As said above by @Miskey it does need a rework for further Minecraft updates.

 

Of all threads you could make, WHY ASSASSIN?! The class is insanely OP as is with just the one redstone dust. People abuse it by doing /assassin and farming kills on defense near their own flag/spawn. Then, if they get peeved at somebody, suddenly it becomes an extremely fast roaming instakill class, targeting anybody on the map they want. It is a torture device for people on the opposing team, and doesn't need a damn buff. It needs to be removed/reworked.

 

It just adds 1 sugar and 1 redstone.

Idk about this idea. Viewing this in the perspective of a capper, enough people already get randomly assassinated and recovered on, and it's also annoying on certain maps to have assassins respawning and catching up to you in 5 seconds. Besides, you could double fake someone out, which is quite op. And I've played during those days before and it's so annoying encountering a good assassin. They could just redstone you twice and you'd pretty much have to block the entire time. And while you're all slow and blocking, the rest of the defense just catches up to you. So op.

 

Yes but brawl needs to update soon. When it updates, assassin will be reworked...

 

It's not going to be removed though or at the moment.

 

Assassin is an essential class to ctf, but op at times. It's objective is to instakill enemies, which makes it a good recover class. If the class wasn't implemented, then more games would last much longer or even just a draw. I am not siding with or against assassin, I'm just saying assassin is ctf's neutral class: some people hate it, some people like it. Just think about other reasons if assassin was not implemented.

 

I don't think assassin needs a buff. It is already good and "assassinate" doesn't take too long to recharge. You just gotta know how to use him. His greatest weapon is surprising his enemies from side or back and can kill more than 3 enemies at a time (if unseen).
