    Hello builders!

Today I’ve created a step by step tutorial to making gorgeous spikes using World Edit.

    Option 1:
Step 1: Change your selection mode to convex with //sel convex

Step 2: Start your spike off by making a circle with your selection points. If you’re not familiar with how convex selection works, //pos1 will start a new selection, and //pos2 will add points to your selection.

This is the circleish shape I’m going with for my spike. The circle you create will be the base of your spike. It doesn’t need to be a perfect circle. Do whatever makes you happy.

Step 3: Figure out where you want your spike to be pointing. Add another point to your selection somewhere above the base of your spike.

You can see where I put the tip of my spike.

Step 4: Set your selection to a block of your choice using //set.

Bam! You’ve successfully created your first spike.

    Option 2:
Step 1: Make a generic circle with your favorite //cyl.

Step 2: Make the point of your spike somewhere above your circle. //up 1 is useful for making a quick block.

Step 3: Select your point, then iteratively select the perimeter of your circle and use //line with your favorite block. Keep doing this and you get a spike.

I would recommend caution with this method, as it can leave holes in your spike.

    Notes:
    • For a cluster of spikes, just make a bunch of single spikes with bases overlapping. For example,

    • The mod I'm using to see my selection can be found here.

If you have any suggestions for spike making, I’m all ears. I hope you found this helpful for future builds. If you have suggestions for tutorials I should do next, let me know!

Nice tutorial! I'd suggest changing "WE" in the title to WorldEdit, just because it looks like "we". :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice tutorial! This could be helpful with those who get to work with W.E. for the first time. T.B.H. I neither knew that you could use the 2nd way.

What command do you do when you've selected all your points for the first one to make the actual spike?

Like MineSheep said, you can use //set to fill your selection with blocks once you have the shape of the spike to your liking. I've edited the post to make this clearer.

Thanks for the help, I always used the 2nd variation, however now I know the first one, I'll probably use that.
