    Whether or not 'damn' is offensive is a value judgement. I'm saying that it's benign enough to go without censorship. So far I've seen very few people disagree. If some people think it's the most offensive word in the world then that's their deal. 'Damn' is in PG movies, daytime television shows, and kids books. I would think it'd be perfectly acceptable to unblock it in game given those circumstances and the very real potential for misinterpretation.

    censor is only meant to ban words that can be found offensive. There's no specific words that can be used to insult someone.

    I hate saying damn while people see it as f***

    I also like how the abbreviation for "kill your self" is censored but the spelled out version is not

    I understand, but we must keep the choice for those who don't want to see it. This is a Minecraft server, after all. Not a Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty server.

    Of course its not. But your suggesting that un-censoring a word like "damn" would turn Brawl's servers into a swear word fest (as McPVP's servers were) is a false comparison. It's a very benign word which, I think you would agree, most kids already know. Un-censoring it is neither going to make people more likely to say it nor will it offend anyone except those few Lacey Green types who get offended by everything. Right now you can call someone "retarded" on any of Brawl's servers, which is highly offensive and rightly so, yet I don't see "retarded" being censored on the strict setting.

    I'm glad you reminded me that this is a Minecraft server, because it certainly isn't church.

    Someone didn't read this thread.

    I read the thread and I agree with most things but it's safe to say that you do have the option to /censor it shouldn't matter if it's uncensored on both settings in my opinion. However I do agree, it is but a benign 'swear' word but there are people who still take offense, as crazy as they may seem. I think we should just leave it in the middle and open for all to enjoy the server and the chat. We have /censor so you may use the words as you wish to whom they may concern. If someone doesn't want to hear that, they may choose to turn to the censored settings, and that includes the word 'damn' if they don't want that either.

    I think based on the poll (which is not entirely accurate as most of brawls younger players don't use forums) it should be uncensored regardless. I'm personally fine with the way it is, but if the poll says otherwise, then brawl staff should take action

    Saying n***** is fine if its in context - the only reason I'm censoring it is because this is Minecraft, and there are kids.
