On a rather cold night, citizens reported meteors falling from the sky. Moments later it was not meteors, no rare space metal fo' you. Instead it was small pod-like tubes. Surprisingly durable enough to withstand rushing into Earth's atmosphere & smash into the surface with minimal damage to the structure.
Civilians stepped slowly to the unknown objects, gas substance spilled out & began knocking people unconscious, their bodies wrapped around in strange silk fiber substance as panic sharply raised in London. Towns among London became abandoned as most went to seek shelter.

A customized helicopter is flown through London.

~Inside the 'Sky-ranger' helicopter~

Bradford: We're moving in on a highly populated area. Your job is to take out any unknown hostiles. Six heat signatures moving calmly around the area.

Louise Harley: Oh joyful me, aliens.. Why was I picked out of everyone in the army to do this..
Nathan Drake: Same goes for the rest of us. Damn our luck.
Louise Harley: *Sigh* At least my work won't be for nothing here. Still haven't wrote my will.
Piky shakes uncontrollably, nervous, on the verge of crying. Feather Paw hugs him gently, telling him happy things to calm down. She knows all too well he's not ready for this.
Firebrand: And we're here at the location. Will be waiting for you people to finish the mission.

Weather is cold and time is 0200 in the morning. As they approach the site of bodies covered in green silk fiber, they hear footsteps. Glock holds up his hand, giving signals of directions, he takes the left of full cover against a wall, the other takes right where it's easily flank-able. Lousie takes the high ground, gaining an advantage. Feather scouts and sees three opposing units approaching. Three small humanoid creatures feasting on a human covered body.

Lousie Harley takes a shot, her shot pierces the head of one of those...things. The bullet lodges out its head, killing it instantly. Green (was Orange but is based on official lore) blood spills out rapidly then decreases.
Nathan Drake: *In a crude Scottish accent* Wait till you get a load of this.

He chucks his grenade in their general direction.

Nathan Drake: Booooom!

It kills two aliens & destroys them. However the explosive sound does alert the rest of the aliens to the position.
Feather Paw: I see three aliens creeping towards us, approximately forty-three yards away!

Both Lousie and Glock shoot and kill two aliens dead center in the heads. Last one creeps to the side behind full cover and begins firing plasma shot at the group, it misses fortunately. Piky suppresses the target, reducing its probability to fire however it'll leave him out of ammo.
Lousie takes a Precision Shot, granting easier accuracy. The bullet exits the barrel fiercely, pushing her back a bit, her hair gently rose into the air from the recoil.

Bradford: All targets eliminated. Pack up and come on home.

Upon Firebrand coming back home somewhere in the USA base, they're greeted with wonderful food.
The staff welcome & give them congratulations for completing their first mission successfully. Feast like Kings. Food glorious to see, heavenly to taste. Calvin Tanner, the Scientist joins in on the fun of heavenly food. Everyone was having a grand time, cheering about their alien kills.

Lousie has been promoted!
She has gained the perk;
Awareness: You detect movement easier & gains slightly better eyesight.

Nathan Drake has been promoted!
He has gained the perk;
Double the fun: Gain a standard grenade with no downsides. Standard grenades upgrade to better grenades respectively at finished research.

They're greeted to meet the Commander, Piky Pikerson who is a soldier too apparently is Commander of the base. Through some magical means & OP writing the story.. He plans out everything & decides what will happen to the future of XCOM. For now that is, he rests inside his room happily, hugging his bed mumbling cluttered words. Feather Paw left some doughnuts on his desk, though when he wakes up he's not going to be completely sure where or how she got the doughnuts.. Magical doughnuts!

Calvin Tanner eagerness gets to he best of him, he researches the Sectoid Corpse, it'll take days to fully complete the research. However his process shall not stop! Research must be done! ...Right after the staff team help setup equipment for him..

Bloody hell that was an awesome killing spree. Starting to love this already but my gut tells me we're in for a wild one. Maybe this'll be my daily target practice. I'm concerned for my safety with these vests, are they enough to take a plasma shot? Will the contents inside safe my life? Who knows...

Piky Pikerson

Sectoids.. Never thought I would see a humanoid type, they range almost to Lousie but are more smaller. Less intimidating but wield plasma pistols accompanied with possible Psionic activity. Though we haven't seen that action in the field as of now, our theories conclude they're powerful enough to cause panic & negative effects. Doubtful enough for me to resist panic. Hoping our teammates can lock us down before we do something stupid.

Ahahaha that was great. Never before seeing an alien explode been.. so oddly satisfying. I talked to Piky before bed time, he's a little shaky but we're going to have a lot of fun together out on the field. Somehow with no remorse for the aliens, I feel happy about this other than killing my own kind on the old war field.
