Maze Runner

Experience with Maze Runner: I played Maze Runner from time to time back on McPVP (a few months before the server dissolved). I didn't have a team or anything, I just played it for fun.

Preferred Type of Servers (Gun gamemodes, mini-games, longer-style PvP gamemodes): I like any of these servers if they're done right. For example, a really well done gun gamemode was an infect game that I played on a popular server (I can't remember the name) a year or two ago. As for minigames, I really like One in the Chamber. It's intense and often a lot of fun, especially since I'm pretty good at it. That said I do tend to have a preference for longer-style PvP gamemodes (CTF) and I can get involved in a factions/survival server if enough people play on it and the setting's interesting enough. Sadly most factions servers are dead these days =/

Thoughts on Maze Runner: Maze Runner was an awesome game-mode before McPvP monetized the crap out of it (the $10 fee tenshi mentioned), which caused the player count to collapse and the server to get sold off to Munchy with a number of McPvP's other assets. It's hard for me to pinpoint what made it as fun as it was but I'd say it had a lot to do with the tension built up in both the game and the movie as you go from one day to the next. I miss the days when you'd go on a survival server and build a fort with your friends and fight off enemies while planning strategy for the next day and Maze Runner kind of brought that feeling back for me. The "indie game" feeling if that's a better descriptor.

Maze Runner was interesting because of how the game mechanics and setting would mess with your mind. I can't remember how many times I got scared of getting lost in that huge maze. Or when a team mate would go into the maze and I wasn't sure if they'd make it back. It was very immersive, like you were entering another world. That's what drew me to this damn game in the first place.

I'd like to see Brawl give it a shot. Someday. +1

 

Never really played maze runner except when I was bored in mcpvp. Correct me if I'm wrong though, didn't Munchy aka BBH's server get the gamemode as a whole? We'd be generally just taking the gamemode from that server if it was to be revived.

Just about jazzed myself theirs a post about Maze Runner.

Experience with Maze Runner: I no-lifed the jazz outta that game. I was close with the staff of the game and tried to openly improve the game. (I co-led a team for awhile if memory served correct)
Preferred Type of Servers (Gun gamemodes, mini-games, longer-style PvP gamemodes): I hate guns, I prefer no-soup/no-potion pvp, like it when the game has a good sence of reward from winning.

FYI, Brawl as a server passed up the rights to Maze Runner. Munchy MC bought the game mode from MCPVP. Im not sure if Munchy is still up but I know theres where Maze want, be careful with that.
