Elf's Shield

    First of all, if this same topic was mentioned in Chaos's survey result essay, I didn't know because I'm too lazy to read it, so I'm going to make this thread anyway.
    Elf was originally designed in order to counter the projectile classes but more specifically, of the "projectile classes", the range reliant ones; mage, pyro, archer and engi. The aim of elf's shield was to be the main counter for these, yet since the shield does not work some of these it diminishes the original point of elf. Here is a list of the projectiles in the game and how the shield "handles" them.
    Ninja:
    Eggs - The shield can deflect the eggs but does not deal the nausea/slowness/blindness effects that come with them.
    Pearls - The shield can deflect the pearls meaning the ninja lands at the location of the pearl after deflection.

    Archer:
    Arrows - The shield can deflect arrows, and the deflected arrows act as archer's normal arrows (headshots at 30+ block range and deals the same amount of knockback otherwise).

    Mage:
    Damage Spell - The shield cannot deflect the damage spell, but does block it (negating damage). Because it only blocks it, the damage is not deflected, nor is the knockback.
    Flame Spell - The shield can deflect the flame spell but, once deflected, the fireball does not deal damage, or set the player on fire.
    Freeze Spell - The shield can deflect the freeze spell, and the deflected freeze spell acts as it normally does.
    Lightning Spell - The shield cannot deflect the lightning spell, and effects it in no way; the lightning goes straight through the shield and acts as if the shield weren't there.
    Healing Spell - The shield can deflect the healing spell, and the deflected heal spell acts as it normally does.

    Pyro:

    "Explosive" Arrows - The shield can deflect "explosive" arrows, and deals a small amount of knockback and damage but do not set the person it hits upon deflection on fire - which is the main purpose of pyro's arrows. Additionally, the deflection can sometimes set you on fire as well.

    Chemist:
    Potions - The shield can deflect any potions and upon deflection the potions have the same effect as they normally do.

    Engineer:

    Turret Fire - The shield can deflect turret fire, but only directly back to the turret - although if somebody walks in the way of the deflected turret fire, it acts as normal, dealing a small amount of knockback and damage. It takes 4-5 deflections of turret fire to take down a single bar of health of the turret.

    Elf:

    Pure Element - The shield can deflect pure element, but, upon deflection, the consecutive hits reset, meaning that pure element deflection does not deal the pure damage under any circumstance, or in any order of fire and deflection.
    Earth Element - The shield can deflect earth element, and upon deflection, acts as it normally does.
    Water Element - The shield can deflect water element, and upon deflection, acts as it normally does, but for your team instead of the enemy's who fired it.
    Wind Element - The shield can deflect wind element, and upon deflection, acts as it normally does ; creating a wisp which manipulates the movement of a nearby enemy.

    From that list, the central projectile deflections problems come from mage, which was the main counter aim in the creation of elf. On top of that, there are problems with deflection from other classes, such as ninja, which create more problems in combat against these classes if playing elf. The issues with deflection have bugged me for a while, and I believe they need to be fixed in order to maintain the original purpose and role of elf.
    While there are other problems with elf, this is one of the main ones, and should be fixed before any other changes are made to elf.

    It needs a fix ;D
    Plus deflection used to work as it's meant to.
