As we all know, mages are hated for their annoyance, trolling capability, and probably many other things. I main as a mage myself, and would like to see the following changes to the class.

WARNING: These are my opinion, meaning you don't have to agree or disagree with any of them.

    1. Debuffing or elimination of the lightning spell; A lot of the overpowered-ness of mages lies in their lightning spell. It is capable of flinging players many blocks away while simultaneously causing a lot of damage at it's strongest. You could debuff it by decreasing the strength of the lightning and/or reducing or completely getting rid of the knockback factor.
    2. Changes to the healing spell; Mages, right now, can infinitely heal themselves and others and don't need a medic to function continuously on the field. One part of that I'd like to see changed is to not be able to heal other players, as that makes mages essentially a second Medic.
    3. Freeze spell tampering; Right now, freeze spells erect a cage of ice around an opponent, rendering them immobile. I would like to see this changed by, instead of having the cage of ice, when someone is hit by a freeze spell it takes 1/5 or 1/4 of their health and they gain Slowness [insert desired Slowness number here] or just become unable to move. As an added feature, if a freeze spell hits the ground or wall, ice spawns there. That could be used for absolutely nothing but will remain in my fantasy.
    4. Adding (or replacing the lightning spell) of a Speed Spell; I always saw mages as a flexible capping class. What else would make them more effective than a speed spell? If you right click on the hoe that the speed spell is put on, you gain Speed I or II for an amount of time determined by how much EXP is in the Experience Bar, similar to a 'Push to Talk' thing.
Thank you for reading my suggestions on improving the mage class. Please, give me all your feedback in the comment section so I can improve my post even more (and possible get some of these changes into the game!).

Still doesn't fix the fact that it's a "walking turret" (Claod 2k17)

I feel like being trapped in ice is better than having slowness. The slowness would just make you a fish in a barrel whereas you're atleast somewhat protected from most mage dmg with ice surrounding you.
