Just something interesting I found. Again, I won't try to force you to believe in God, or tell you you're wrong. But, I do ask that you give the rest of us religous folk the same courtesy.

Theory: The afterlife is a lucid dream.

What if our minds live on when we die, and we dream about what we believe the afterlife to be?
Christians and Jews dream about Heaven, Muslims dream about um... wet, Buddhists dream about reaching Nirvana, and atheists dream about black nothingness. Sorry, you guys don't believe in an afterlife.

Note: This is just something silly I threw out. I don't actually believe it.

A black nothingness filled with naked women and booze plz

At any rate this has been fun. The debate seems to be winding down but if new sh*t gets posted here I'll pop in.

Maybe you should convert to Islam.

Well, hate to jump in the middle of this, but any opinion of what who or how God looks it technically correct? Of course that's just my opinion, but the way I think of it is if your going to believe in something, its your belief, not someone else's. I also believe religion is like the broad subject of what your supposed to believe, and you "improvise" from what you want from that. I don't really know though, I'm like a version of Buddhist, so I don't necessarily have a God.

I dont mind what you preach, but this whole thread was to bag on other's religion for the purpose of finding flaws amongst their argument... I bet a majority of these people wouldn't critique another's religion in real life, but since they can do it without any repercussions, it gives them freedom to express their thoughts, ideas, and feelings.

Idk maybe I missed something in the context, but what the heck are you saying? The purpose of this thread was for people of various beliefs to have a discussion without it turning into a flame war. "This whole thread was to bag on other's religion" No.... Not at all... Some people have been critical of another's religion, but the amount of "bagging" I think has been kept to the minimum. Besides, you didn't even have the courtesy to answer the video.

Can do, have done, and will continue to do so.

However, IRL and online, I'll argue against it only if it is brought up first and makes claims of truth and / or has atrocities committed in its name. I don't go around criticizing the beliefs of people just because.

Have you seen the past threads with "Religion" in the title? They didn't end well, and it's staff that agrees too, earlier in this thread I think it was Matt who said the exact same thing too.

Answer the video? He didn't even ask a question, he says "be courteous" and that's about it... And all I did was explain why online, on the forums, where the set standard is "Religion debates; Avoid them" isn't the space where people respects one another's beliefs, and be courteous to one-another...

It would be a waste of time to debate the finer points of this so I will just say this. You should always be courteous no matter what. That shouldn't be something debatable. If you look back a few decades you would see religious arguments done respectfully and courteously. It really is a sad thing that we are having this discussion whether we should be courteous or not...

I mean it's whatever because you didn't read the whole thing I said... I didn't say "you shouldn't be courteous to one-another" I said "this isn't exactly the place where people respect one-another."

If informing new-comers that people don't respect eachother in this environment, makes me the bad guy, then oh-well.

ALSO... don't act like I didn't read what you said right, because what you said really does imply that my mindset is in the wrong/ "sad".

Mostly because everything else on this forum is now immensely boring.

Plus, this being a completely optional thread, stirs up sh!t only for those who take offense on the behalf of others.

uhh you know the evangelists werent actually around when jesus was, and if they were they never lived with him so they couldnt have witnessed anything. they recorded something they didnt see

anyway i think buddhism is the best religion. who the **** cares about how we got here, and what happens after. important thing is, just act the best you can be.

No, they were around when Jesus was. In fact, two of them, Matthew and John, were two of Jesus' 12 disciples.
