Resignation :V

My time has finally come. The time has come for me to move on. After half a decade of Brawl; after five years of making friends, kicking butt, and even kicking players :v, I can honestly say that I’ve had a blast. However, that time is over. I’m leaving, and unfortunately for some of you here I’m not just talking about leaving the staff team. The simple fact of the matter is I don’t enjoy playing Brawls servers anymore, and this resignation/outro is very much overdue.

What fed into this? It all started when Tf2 became more fun than Wildwest sometime in the middle of about January of this year. As some of you might know, I’ve shown great liking for TF2 SFMs and such for some time now, and this is the reason. As a few Wildwest oldies might know, my brother @crazybombguy, and my two irl friends @Nabulous5 and @Far2Loud stopped playing Wildwest ages ago. This was rough, because the server lost a lot of its social aspect for me. However, my brother and friends got into TF2 alongside me, thus I began to get that real social aspect that I love so much. At the time I was in school, but I stuck around because I still enjoyed the server, its community, and its staff team. Furthermore, the hope of some day implementing my gameplan for the wildwest kept me where I was. As summer vacation rolled around early May of this year, I finally had some time on my hands. Initially I was able to play a lot of both TF2 and Brawl. Then I bought The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild… I can honestly say that it is one of the greatest games ever made. It feels like a Metal Gear Solid V turned Nintendo. :v Additionally, crazybombguy and I played through that game together. That really filled the social void that playing Brawl alone created. I poured hours upon hours into that game. After completing the main storyline, I purchased The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, and I am currently playing through that game. However, I’m still playing BOTW because, well, it truly is an amazing game. As I found more games that I enjoyed; as I went back to my Nintendo console roots, Brawl began to feel more and more like a chore. The final straw was getting a full time job. It’s exhausting; far more than school has ever been for me. It’s also very time consuming and during summer vacation. To put it simply, I want to my spend time when I’m not working doing something fun with my irl family and friends.

So what now? I’m resigning and going inactive. The current servers don’t interest me, so I won’t often be in-game. Will I come back to try new servers? Yes, but I don’t think I’ll be playing much in-game even if I somewhat enjoy them. What about the forums, Teamspeak, and Slack? I’ll stalk the forums like the lurker I am. I’ve loved the forums from day one. I’ll never truly be able to say goodbye to my baby. TS? Always hated it, always will. Don’t expect to ever see me on it. Slack? The conversations in casual and sheriffs off-topic are too entertaining to leave. If I’m not talking, I’ll be watching. Just don’t be too toxic, I know how things get heated there. I’m changing my profile picture to Midna because 1. Best Twilight Princess character/Zelda character in general and 2. gotta follow in the footsteps of some of the greats like @MajoraJora and go out with a female as my profile pic. If there’s one thing you have to know about Brawl, it’s that all the best people are dudes with females in their profile pics. Unless the female is from an anime of course. Then we’re just talking about weebery, but that’s a whole other can of fish that I’m not going to get into right now. :V I still love most of the Brawl community, although with the ban reset, I like it a lot less. :/ But who am I to complain? I’m not here anymore. The staff team is great as usual. Seriously, you need to set aside some time to play with some of the sweet peeps on it.

Alright, time to reflect on some of the highlights of my Brawl career aka brag about my Brawl resume.

• Founded the intro/outro section
• Removed negative forums ratings
• Achieved level 80+ in McWar with a 4.98 something KDR in War.
• Earned fpsHG Mod
• Dominated fpsHG with the old squad. (Looking at you @18kss, @crazybombguy, and @soccerstars. It was an honor practically ruling the gamemode fighting by your sides. :v)
• Ruled as king over the old Brawl arcade
• Sported an insane 15+ KDR on SGG
• Received more positive ratings than messages posted
• Founded TAC: The Army of Cats and ruled the forums with cat profile pics for a month
• Housed the largest profile post in Brawl history on my profile page
• One of the first handpicked staff members in Brawl history
• Raked in 1Mil g in Wildwest as a sheriff
• Founded Rokism and created the epic story: The Legend of Roke
• Promoted to SMOD/Wildwest and Brawl News Manager
• Watched Brawl grow and change as a both a community and staff member for 5 years

Time for some juicy concluding remarks which will consist of me ranting/giving advice. Also, there will be confessions, so stay tuned nerds.

1. Don’t take Brawl too seriously. Seriously, don’t do it. Brawl is here to provide you enjoyment via meeting your gaming needs. It isn’t meant to be your social life/social media. If you begin to care too much about it, you won’t be happy. Just be satisfied with it in its imperfect state. I’ve seen people emotionally destroyed over things that have happened on this network. Don’t let that happen to you. Also, for those who do, stop hating on the staff team. They can only do so much to make you happy.

2. Don’t take the people on Brawl too seriously, especially the aggressive ones. I would hope that anything less than threats from legitimately dangerous people mean absolutely nothing to you. Remember that you’re dealing with a lot of hormones on the other side of a computer screen. Their derogatory remarks apply more readily to themselves than anyone else. Logically speaking, why should you care what some random insecure kid has to say about you? If your emotions get the better of you, just think about that. But if you really find that you can’t have a good time here because of people like this, you really are better off enjoying yourself doing something else. Seriously, go have fun!

Ok, confession time.

1. @staff team, @smods has got to be the most annoying, overused, and misused slack feature ever invented. It’s so dumb. :V I’ve been getting useless tags all day long since the day it came out. Quite honestly, I never cared enough to say anything while I was staff, but I thought it might be humorous to include in my resignation.

2. Some of you already know this. There is an easter egg in every Brawl news that I have posted. Most if not all of them are funny TF2 SFMs that I’ve snuck in. Find them and have a laugh.

3. Some of you have asked, and I think it’s time you finally got the truth. You see… I actually am Tac42… jk


No tags, so tell your friends. I don’t want to write out something emotional for all my friends here, and even more so I don’t want to accidentally leave someone out. You all know who you are anyways. You know that we’re buds and I’ll miss you in my inactivity. I’ll still be lurking, don’t worry. One does not simply leave Brawl. Until next time scrubs!
