Idea Engineer turret functionality change

    So i was playing casual CTF, that is just plainly killwhoring as medic (#sharp24medic) when I realised it was freeday, so naturally a lot of people were playing engi and dwarf (honestly dwarf just needs to be deleted) and I saw that typically, an engineer would just run tf away from his/her turret and I thought to myself, what if if engineer walked a certain radius away from his turret, it would get removed, like if they would walk into spawn or die.

    This way it would force engineers to stay nearby their turrets and to be fair if they run away, even if their turrent most likely wont last long, it'll get removed from its spot making it less of a nuisance for teammates.

    Thoughts?

    If any change, I'd like to see engineer be less campy and more engaging than it already is. A suggestion was made to make it more like Bastion from Overwatch, so that u must always manually control it (right click the turret item to enter/ become the turret, you can maybe shift to exit turret but doing so removes the turret but you could re-enter/re-set it up with a small setup time - so more room for mobility but might need less fire rate or fire power).
    Jk don't really think it's a worthwhile change, but still an idea.

    Tbh tho the number one thing that needs to be done to fix engie's OPness is to increase the setup time for placing down cake/turret or implement a cooldown.

    While this would make Engineer even more of a camping class than it already is, I like the idea. I played Engineer last friday and I literally sat right outside spawn, with my turret placed elsewhere and got a 7 killstreak. That is both why I love Engineer (can't pvp) and why it needs some serious changes.

    I think this is a good temporary fix but in the long run Engineer needs something along the line of a wholesale rework.[/QUOTE]

    As an added suggestion, lower automatic fire rate and knockback, prompt engineers to hang around and manually use turrets.

    Same thing happened to me yesterday, random engineers just running away and abandoning they turrets. This sounds like an easy fix +1

    Perhaps they could make it so if engineers leave a certain radius of their turrets, they either shoot much slower when not being manually controlled, or start to take damage until broken (perhaps 1 tick of health every two seconds).
    Tho I'd just much prefer a turret be an entity and headshottable/damageable regularly.
