A plea to nerf the free classes

    The free classes are way to op in comparison with the paid (by credits now) classes: buffed heavy can mow down everything and can take lots of hits; medics can cause endless turtling; soldier can still fly away all the time and archer's armour is too strong for a sniper class.

    So here are some suggestions:
    - Give heavy an iron sword
    - Give medic a shovel with sharpness II (renamed: medic mace) so it can be assassinated
    - Make sure that soldier can't wallclimb while on fire
    - Give archer leather armour and remove its ridiculous advantage over chemist

    How do you expect new players to enjoy the game, if they keep getting killed by people who have kits that are way better than theirs. Kills part of the player base imo

    I'm not arguing for the paid classes to be stronger than the free classes. The only class that will have a nerf in killpower would be heavy due the iron sword. An iron sword is still good in pvp, especially buffed.

    The other nerfs are because of the turtling, camping and other kits being weaker due the advantages of free kits over them (i.e archer over chemist).

    Ofcourse I'm also fine with buffs for ninja, chemist and pyro.

    How so? Isn't a mace more of a cleric's weapon?

    I think if the free classes were nerfed the game would become similar to MC-War, New players keep getting one-shot by people with ISO and they rage quit and leave the server. (Don't get me wrong, I love MC-War)

    These aren't even nerfs in killpower (with the exception of heavy). All these suggestions would provide is.
    - Heavy being slightly weaker (iron sword instead of diamond sword). Right now a buffed heavy can spamcrit everything to death
    - Soldier just not being able to wallclimb while on fire
    - Medic being able to get assassinated (like beginners are aware of blocking assassins anyway)
    - Archer being easier to kill.

    It's not like those classes would become the new necro. It would just give ninja, pyro and chemist a better chance against them (again, ofcourse I'm also fine with buffs for those classes).

    Hey man if we're talking about beginners and blocking lets just give heavy sharpness 4 iron shovel or something since its the og beginners class.

    Suggests nerfs which severely limit classes killpower -> says nerfs are not limiting killpower

    This wouldn't have anything to do with you being a mage main would it?

    I mean, you did recently suggest turning Mage into a 'ranged pyro' so that it'd be easier to kill tanky classes like Heavy, dwarf, and soldier. now this

    Hey look a pyro/Mage main wants to make it easier to kill soldiers (a class which you, coincidentally, never play). What a surprise

    There is like, no reason to dump Medic's sword in favor of a shovel. For one thing, Medic having a shovel as a melee weapon makes no sense, as someone pointed out above ^^. For another it would make medic support - of flag carriers - pretty worthless since they're almost guaranteed to get one shot every time an assassin's around. while this would make recovery easier to do i do not think it is the right way to go about it

    another thing... if you want to make medics easier to kill, nerf the healthpool. you can do this by either reducing the passive regen, the number of steaks, or how medic's on hit heal (i.e. another nerf to medic teaming). All that the shovel does is guarantee that medic dies more often - to instakills - without fixing the underlying problem which is that it is too tanky and that its heals are broken

    I agree that Archer should be weaker than it is in melee but giving it pyro armor may be going too far down that avenue. Also I love how a chemist main is complaining about it's "ridiculous" advantage over Chemist when chemist is literally one of the best capturing classes in the game

    "I want buffs for classes I main and nerfs for classes I don't". Do I have that right? I mean I've looked at your playstats Tom. You play a lot of pyro, chemist, ninja, and mage but have somehow managed to play less heavy, soldier, necro, and medic than I have. And you have over 4x as much in game activity than me

    Yet here you are suggesting a bunch of nerfs to classes you don't play, which would conveniently make it easier to get kills, captures, or restores with all the classes you do play

    Try to think of what other people want instead of suggesting a bunch of changes which make it easier for you to play CTF and absolutely ****ty for everyone else. Because I can tell you that the very last thing that is going to attract new players to CTF is nerfing the classes used by new players.

    I guess you could use the shovel to dig graves for the carriers because you got assassinated.

    I'd rather see other classes buffed to meet other strong classes, with some exceptions (but I won't get into that here)

    I've heard the heavy idea before, and never been a huge fan, since I love to play heavy, maybe I'm just biased idk.

    The soldier change... would damage the game. In matches, let's say when you play on blackout for simplicity, when a soldier escapes the flag room (usually barely alive and on fire) they need to get to their medic. This would make that more difficult, if not impossible. I don't really see the need for the change, maybe elaborate on why so I could better understand your viewpoint.

    For medic, I'd prefer a sword for obvious reasons. The argument "so it can be assassinated" isn't really valid considering that every class can technically be assassinated, it just depends on the player's reaction time and the timing of the assassin. I believe there are other ways to nerf medic and this isn't the correct way.

    This would make archer too squishy imo, and since I get targeted by ninjas I could see myself racking up quite a few deaths because of this. Full leather might be overkill, maybe a combination of chain and leather, while removing punch, and maybe taking away a few arrows. Minor nerfs in all areas instead of a more major nerf solely to the armor.

    I really believe that it's the players who are op, not the classes themselves. I've seen great players use a terrible class and make it seem playable, and I've seen terrible players make an op class look like it needs a buff. There are some abilities to classes, and a few entire classes that I would heavily consider reworking, but the free classes with exception to archer imo are pretty solid.

    I actually completely agree that the free classes are overpowered.

    That being said, we should buff the premium classes to balance the game imo.

    Ps. **** Medic though that **** needs to be hard nerfed.

    Sure, buffs for premium classes is fine with me as well. I didn't have a problem with heavy and soldier on MCPVP, because the premium classes weren't as ****ty as they are now back then.

    I noticed your medic rework thread, but what would you say about medic being able to get assassinated? (Or remove its fire immunity)
