Idea Steak and health regen.

    I've been wondering for a while now why health regeneration and steak regeneration aren't implemented for all classes to support killstreaks. Tell me your thoughts.

    If this were implemented I think that it would discourage teamwork and playing objectively.

    Every class has some form of regen mechanic. Whether it be steak, or a custom regen for the class.
    Classes with steak:
    -Heavy
    -Soldier
    -Medic (plus passive regen ability)
    -Pyro
    -Elf
    -Dwarf
    -Fashionista
    -Engineer (plus cake regen)
    -Necro
    Classes with customized regen:
    -Ninja: crouch with sword out to regen health.
    -Assassin: Successfully use assassinate to restore health
    -Mage: Heal spell gives regen.
    -Chemist: Health potions (regen and instant health)
    Hope this helps.

    Why classes don't have both isn't so the game doesn't become crazy unbalanced.

    Would make the objective of the game extremely easy.
    It's already easy enough too...
    If you want health, seek a medic (or just play it ffs).


    You'll get health if you kill someone with just your sword too.

    Ok. Then make it extremely small it can't be abused. Say a heart every 5 seconds, and a steak every 30. I don't see how something like this can help you steal the flag. It makes maintaining a killstreak easier without having a medic buddy you all game.

    7 hearts every 30 seconds is insane. Maintaining killstreaks is not the objective of the game. That is capturing. This makes capturing easier, and like I said, it's easy enough already.
    If it were insignificantly small, it'd be a waste of developer time, of which we have none.
    Huge -1 from me, not needed. CTF has never had health regen on all classes and I believe it should be kept that way.
    Just get a medic. They don't have to follow you all game.

    The reason this is a thing is to encourage team play and the use of support classes while discouraging camping/whatnot.

    Classes like medic, elf, chemist and even mage can provide effects to other classes that either heal them or nullify/reduce incoming damage. Part of the reason these classes are viable is the fact that most classes cannot sustain themselves without support.

    Killstreaks also don't really matter in terms of objective gameplay, so if you need to respawn to get items for an incoming push from the enemy team it's not that big of a desl.

    Okay then out of combat regeneration. This would mean that you could regenerate steak and health *at a small rate* whilst out of combat, If this would really affect capturing the flag that much easier then implement a factor of distance away from flag.

    That would make it even worse as the person who survives a fight can run around for a bit and just regen back to full health on their own.

    This would just slow the game down and encourage running away constantly instead of actually fighting. Overall I find this a bad idea in general.
