I've made a program that calculates some useful numbers after you've tracked someone. This program will make calculating faster and lessen the chance of mistakes once you know how to use it. Below I'll explain how to use it and provide a download link.

Here's an example of me temp tracking someone, although the program works with any type of tracker. I'll use the numbers provided by this to show how to use the program.

Here's what the calculator program looks like. The first column is for the X coordinate and the second column is for the Z coordinate.

Here's the program with all of the relevant information entered for my example. This should mostly be self-explanatory — just match up the numbers from my example track with where I've entered them into the program.
    Some things to remember:
    • The X is always East or West and the Z is always North or South.
    • "X Coord" is your X coordinate at the closest distance for East/West. "Z Coord" is your Z coordinate at the closest distance for North/South.
    • "Distance" is the closest distance they were within for the corresponding coordinate.
    • "Narrow" is the closest distance they were within minus the farthest distance they were not within.
    • "Direction" should be whichever direction it says that they were in.
Once you press Enter or the Calculate button, it'll output some useful information in the bottom box. Below is a description of each line:
    • The range that the X coordinate is in.
    • The range that the Z coordinate is in.
    • The center for the two ranges. These are the coordinates you should travel to and start searching if you've narrowed to 25 or 50.
    • The center coordinates divided by 8. This is where you can put a portal in the Nether to end up at the center coordinates in the Overworld. Do not search for the base at these coordinates; it's only for the portal.

Here's some final info before the download link:
    • This program can also calculate where to put a temp tracker. Just make sure you put the right numbers in for the narrow and then build the temp tracker at the center coordinates. Make sure the temp tracker covers the full range for the X and Z.
    • If you can't find what you've tracked in the Overworld, it may be at the same coordinates in the Nether if it's within the Nether's 6k border.

Working pretty well. Maybe making it so you don't have to put X and Z coordinates when trying to calculate. It returns: "Invalid Input"

The center coordinates is required information for the calculation.

Or are you saying you want it to be able to calculate just one of the coordinates rather than requiring both?

I think that may confuse people whom are unaware that you need to track both coordinates in order to find someone. If you want to calculate just one coordinate you can just put a '0' in for all the boxes for the other coordinate.

I'm a little confused with the "narrow" part. Let me clear it up:
Distance is how far away from the tracker you tracked them

If you're going block by block, narrow is the type of block you used to track
If you're doing a stacked tracker, say every 150 blocks, you put 150 as narrow?

For my example track, see how he was within 150 North but not 125?

    150 - 125 = 25

So you put 25 for the narrow for that direction.

What makes this different than 5zigs calculator for tracking?

The 5zig one sucks. It doesn't calculate correctly, it's unable to calculate anything for south, you can't copy the output, and there's less info in the output.

It's a guide, and it's still relevant; therefore posting on it is absolutely fine.
