Staff - Teams System
For over a year, SMods have been responsible for managing Brawl (ranging from server management to writing the Brawl newsletter). However, a few JMods and Mods have always been helping SMods manage some aspects of Brawl. We've recently introduced the teams system to allow all staff members to help out with the roles they enjoy doing. The teams are as follows:

Task: Gather information about applicants who are good enough to possibly be accepted. Look at forum activity to gain information about character.

Task: Create the Brawl News each month. Write articles when needed, select featured media, brawler and literature, find a trivia question.

Task: Ensure the tools for community interactions are used and that all servers get enough attention. Support the server managers with the community interaction by providing ideas and offering help.

Task: Come up with event ideas, plan events through and help with the organization. Write announcement threads for events where needed.

Task: Create a hack test consisting of at least 20 questions every 2 months for staff members to take. Ensure all questions and answers are correct and not too difficult or easy. Judge the responses to the hack test.

Task: Advertise Brawl on third party platforms, mainly PlanetMinecraft & Minecraft Forums.

Task: Come up with ideas for videos and streams, create the videos along with the media team members and ensure they are appropriate for being published.

Task: Ensure that the looks - mainly the chat and scoreboard - of all of Brawl's servers are similar and good. Look for differences in design between different areas of Brawl and come up with solutions.

Task: Come up with ideas for Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms. Write tweets/posts and ensure they are appropriate for being posted.

Task: Keep track of statistics like player count, forum posts etc. and constantly update them with new numbers. Look for trends and try to find reasons for those trends.

Task: Look through the wiki to find areas that are unfinished or incorrect. Resolve the issues or forward them to other wiki team members. Coordinate work with the wiki team members and encourage them.

Note: Media Team and Wiki Team will not be replacing the current teams. Rather, they will be managing the current Media/Wiki team and help them fulfill their role.

These teams will not only allow lower staff members help with management, but will hopefully improve areas where Brawl has previously been lacking. For example, many players have criticised Brawl's community interactions and lack of transparency, so the community team was made to help fix the issue and one of our roles will be making these threads every 2 or 3 weeks.

CTF - Necro Buff
Firstly, Necro has had a small buff. The aim of the buff is to make Necro a slightly more viable class, as it is very underused and is weak compared to other classes. The following has been changed:

Necro can heal their mobs again. Hit a mob with any item, and they will receive a regeneration boost.

Medic can also heal a Necro's mob - simply hit the mob with your sword, as if you were healing a player.

Added some sweet particle effects when a mob is being healed.

Wild West - Map Update
Wild West has received a small map update. The changes are as follows:

Added some trains along the train track

Updated Wild Grass base by adding a few corridors

KitPvP - UHC Duel Update
The UHC duel in KitPvP has received a small update. Players will now receive a diamond axe to quickly mine wooden planks they place, and the duel's description has been updated.

KitPvP - Removed Health and Regeneration Potion Drops
Very self explanatory update - the health and regeneration potion drop events have been removed as they are not very useful and generally ignored. However, they may be buffed and brought back at a later date. Thanks to @Removers for the suggestion! https://www.brawl.com/threads/69345/

KitPvP - "null" Bug Fixed
Have you noticed players having "null" at the start of their name in KitPvP?

HG - Kit Update
HG has received a small kit update. A while back, we removed a lot of underused kits in attempt to make the game less complicated for new players. Due to complaints from a few returning players, we have decided to bring every kit back. Every kit (other than Castaway and the challenge kits) are now playable again!

Misc - Lobby Update

The lobby has received a small update. We have separated the gamemodes into 2 sections: PvP and Guns. These sections contain the following gamemodes:

Capture The Flag

Hardcore Games

Gun:

Battle Royale

Wild West

War

WarZ

MC-WAR 2.0 RELEASED | CALL OF DUTY

Gameplay

Basic gameplay is very similar to the previous MC-War - however, with all the new killstreaks and perks, customizing your loadout is a lot more complex and important. All guns, equipment, killstreaks, and perks can be unlocked with levels and credits. Guns still differ in characteristics, but there are no overpowered guns or other equipment. We will constantly work on balancing all parts of the game out to ensure it stays this way.

Gamemodes

As before, MC-War is still round based. However, we have added 3 completely new gamemodes on top of the six existing gamemodes: TDM, CTF, FFA, One in the Chamber, Infect and Gungame. The new gamemodes from Call of Duty being: Domination, Kill Confirmed and Demolition.

Maps

For the launch, there are 15 carefully selected maps. Almost all are based on Call of Duty and they have been carefully reworked by the Brawl Build Team to make sure they are balanced and look good. You can now also vote on the map to be played next. We plan to add new maps every few weeks and we will also do map rotations!

Guns & Equipment

Create endless varities of loadouts with 25 primary guns, 6 secondaries, 4 lethals and 3 tacticals. You can choose from Rifles, Shotguns, Snipers, SMGs, and LMGs! Pack some damage with C4 or play tactically with Smoke Grenades.

Killstreaks

Featuring 16 unique killstreaks, ranging from a simple Care Package, to manning an AC130, and, of course, the infamous Tactical Nuke. You can select three killstreaks for your loadout and combine them in any way you like. Killstreaks are activated manually by the player and you can even stack multiple killstreaks.

Perks

Select one of 17 perks to fit your unique playstyle. Avoid robot AI with Cold Blooded, tank the damage with Juggernaut, or just blow it all up with Martyrdom.

Raid EOTM Event

Hello Brawlers! We are very excited to announce a huge EOTM Event for Raiders and Brawlers alike. As we get the ball rolling for a very exciting reset we have decided to hold a 1v1 PvP Tournament at the extremely popular community-built arena to celebrate the End of the Map.
Now let's get right into the details!

Where?
The event will take place at the community built arena (which we will grief protect) where you will be able to view incredible builds from various Raid players. The arena is surrounded by absolutely stunning builds such as: a medieval village, a dock area complete with a lighthouse, and various statues and miscellaneous aesthetic builds to complete the entire project as a whole. Huge shoutout to @TBNRDNA and @matt11125 for contributing the most to this amazing build!

When?
The event will take place on September 23 to lead up to the map reset. The event will start off at 5PM UTC (1PM EST / 7PM CEST / 10AM PST). You will be able to explore the entire project and take in the amount of work and effort the community put in to build this by hand. The PvP Tournament will then begin shortly after 5PM UTC. Once the PvP Tournament is done and the winners have been announced we will have a special surprise to end the map off with a bang. A countdown can be found here.

What?
The PvP Tournament will be a single elimination bracket style competition. The event will consist of the first 64 players that sign up below. We will be allowing players to show up without signing up on a first come first serve basis if there is available space. The fights will be monitored and spectated by moderators that will referee the match to ensure that no one is hacking or using unfair advantages to win. The players that win their fight will move on to the next match until one player comes out on top. An SMOD+ will be online to distribute loot if you choose not to bring your own, given that it meets the requirements/qualifications. After the event is done we will be ending the map with a huge bang so be sure to stick around!
*Note: If any player is found to be using unfair advantages or does not show up for their fight they will be disqualified*

Build Contest V: Space - Results!

It's that time again to unveil the winners of last month's contest! Lets not procrastinate any longer, lets get into the results:

In third place, we have @NateTheDerp's memey entry with his submission: Er, just an entry with dead memes? Check it out here. According to this entry, not only is Earth the home to the mass grave of countless memes, but also the void of space aswell! He has incorporated many different types of memes within his creation. We have to give it to him for his creativity here. Who knows, there may be a solar system filled with nothing but memes as we speak. The universe is a large place.

@NateTheDerp wins $10 to spend in the Brawl store and 1 free map on McBuild! Good work!

Here in second place, we have @maniwo with his Star Wars Mashup! Big fan of the franchise here I see. Here, Maniwo has created an armada of Milenium Falcons and Tie´ Fighters above to what seems to be a plasma shield. The scale of this creation is wonderful and truly shows an intimidating fleet traversing through the emptiness of space. Except with these guys around, it's truly crowded!

@maniwo wins $15 and 2 free maps on McBuild. Congratulations!

Last but definitely not least, in first place we have @KingOfTheCrows with his "Under Attack" submission! His creativity truly shined when creating this. A beautiful space station, wonderfully crafted fleets of ships and rockets, burning comets and asteroids, and even aliens within UFOs! In the midst of this battle you can see the immense fighting and battling occuring at this once proud and defined station. The detailing and glass work really gives this submission a spark in the aesthetics along with the sheer amount of events taking place at the same time giving off a good atmosphere of chaos and confusion! Very nice work!

The Reset - Raid Map 3!

Hello Brawlers,

The time for the reset has come - We know this has been long awaited by many of you, and we are proud to announce that it is here!

When?
The reset will take place on Saturday the 23rd of September after the EOTM (End of the Map) Event that will start at 5PM UTC (1PM EST / 7PM CEST / 10AM PST) - Read more about this below. The exact time of the reset cannot be given as it is dependant on how long the event takes - We would expect it to be around 7PM UTC.

For the reset, the world you have PvPed in, made your bases in, tracked & raided in will be replaced by a fresh, new world, full of new possibilities. This means all bases, items, warps, teams and gold will be gone with the reset. You will not keep anything but your player rank! (and your skills). In addition to this, there will be several new features added this map to improve game play and performance:

Changes:

The Sea Spawn is back - There has been an enormous demand for this spawn to be used, so we've brought it back for another map!

Redstone has been an issue on Raid for this map. Automated machines relying on rapid pulse circuits would put a large amount of strain on the server. This has now been resolved, leaving you to create all those contraptions that you've wanted to without the lag.

Team caps have been a big discussion. A vote was held on Raid to gather what changes players wanted regarding these, with some interesting results. While the majority were in favour of keeping them at 8, we've decided to increase the limit to 10, giving you 2 extra slots in your team!

What Changes (if any) Should be Made to Team Caps? Votes:

59 votes: Keep them the same (8 Players) (34.91%)
48 votes: Remove them completely (28.4%)
50 votes: Increase them (29.59%)
12 votes: Decrease them (7.1%)

Total: 169 votes

Changes to the way KOTHs work have been made

The tracking issue that caused trackers to sometimes track slightly too far is fixed

/random has been changed to 12h and now has a timer

Fixes to /team perms, and a whole new GUI for changing your team permissions

A new End hub - Similar to the old design, but without the roof, so you can lock onto the dragon with ease

Various other bug fixes

There's so many more things to discover for yourselves. We hope you find all the changes help overall gameplay and aesthetics of the game mode.

Staff - Teams System
In the past, SMods have been in charge of tasks such as writing the Brawl News, managing Applications, and much more. Now, Mods and JMods can join Teams which perform these specific tasks. We hope this will ensure minor and major tasks getting done more efficiently around Brawl.

War 2.0 Released!
After years of waiting, the famous War 2.0 is finally here. Going through multiple versions, testings, developers, and much more, War 2.0 is a fresh first person shooter server, similar to Legacy War. Come play multiple Game-modes including ones from Legacy War (Team Death Match, Capture the Flag, Gungame, Free For All, One In the Chamber, Infect) but also newly created Game-modes such as Demolition, Domination, and Kill-Confirmed. Along with new Game-modes, we have created fresh guns, killstreaks, and perks. Enjoy!

Featured Brawler
While playing CTF, what do you notice? Is it really really hard to capture the flag? Yes. Yes it is. If you want to learn how to cap with ease, I'd suggest taking lessons with this guy. He has over 2,000 captures on CTF and he can do it with any class. He's a medic main, but he can play pretty much any class. Along with being a CTF God, this guy is a really fantastic community member and has a lot of really great ideas to improve the server. @ningeek212 is the man, the myth, and the legend. Be sure to give him a pat on the back, and say congrats!

Every move has a purpose. A split personality, from the movie Fight Club once said, “You want to make an omelet, you gotta break some eggs.” Early on, I understood that I would need to gain the skills from a variety of interesting and deadly people. So I set upon my global sojourn. I mastered Muay Tai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I lived in New Mexico the land of enchantment, where I learned mixed martial arts from a master of mixed martial arts. After that I moved to Brazil, where I studied in Rio de Janiero, at Nova Uniao, and I trained with elite UFC fighters. I learned high level striking, grappling, advanced understanding of fitness, CrossFit, nutrition, and proper game-planning for fights. I remember walking by a street musician, playing a slightly out of tune guitar, I watched and learned. I observed this same fellow three days in a row, I noted every hand position, string position, and the reception of the crowd. While in Brazil and I realized I could play an instrument just by observing for a couple of hours. I asked the beggar for his guitar on the fourth day, which he gave me, and I made him a week’s worth of panhandling in less than seven minutes.

To hone my skills I fought in the underground Super Fight Clubs. The first rule of Super Fight clubs don’t talk about Super Fight club. Imagine super powered people on the outs who need to earn some cash to feed their addiction, fuel their lust for beautiful things, or just want to see how tough they are. It’s an underground network of clubs where super people beat the tar out of one another. There is something visceral that can’t quite be described when a fist meets an orbital socket and the roar of the crowd. We all used alternate names. Imagine an underground fight club where everyone has powers and a grudge. The fights draw millionaires with cash to burn to even higher rollers with Presidential titles and vast resources. From super soldiers, half man half dinosaurs, and hipster vampire teenagers. The clubs were located in scenic cities such as New York, Moscow, and Stockholm. The powered set risk broken bones, jaws and teeth for a shot at the $100,000 prize per match. The spectators paid $500 for a ticket to watch the carnage and gamble on the outcomes. There are no rules.

I took the name the “Grim Reaper” when I entered the fight scene. The irony was that I did not intend to kill anyone, just gain experience. My goal was to earn the experience of fighting supers without getting my ass handed to me and arrested. I wanted to work my way up through the ranks. identify my weaknesses before starting my professional career. Think of it as an internship on steroids for super villains. In the scene, I ran into various rejects as well as professionals.

Some theorize that fighting is innate in humans. Some external stimulus or unexplained medical condition that is yet to be understood. Others theorize that violence is learned. I found people fought when they had power but no respect, people are irrational, and they do so to survive desperate times.

The lawless beatings were violent. I saw a Wolf Man being strangled by a creature with purple tentacles. I broke the jaw of a nearly immortal vampire who was stuck looking like a teenage for all eternity. A little holy water and a bath in garlic before the fight helped. We were all given a days’ notice before the fight and in that time I typically developed 75 different techniques or strategies to destroy my opponent.

I once fought an Atlantean. The common misperception is that they don’t exist. The truth they do exist. They can only exist outside of water for a limited duration before they asphyxiate. Because they live at various pressures their bodies are physically stronger than the average human being. They tend to have an inferiority complex as well and they are not fans of surface dwellers who have desecrated their food supply and territory. I can hardly blame them.

I let that poor sap get the jump on me and believe that he had clobbered me with his clumsy but powerful punches. What he lacked in technique he made up with ferocity and power. His initial onslaught of punches, kicks and a ferocious upper cut would have killed a normal man.

He hit me so hard my jaw broke and I went down. Unfortunately for him, the nanotechnology coursing through my veins had me operationally efficient in less than 30 seconds. He turned around to take in the roar of the crowd. I pulled myself off the dirty floor and regained my composure. Seizing the opportunity, I jumped on his back and got him in a rear naked choke.

He fought like a fish ensnared in a fisherman’s net fighting for survival. Eventually, he took a knee, which I used to my advantage as I executed a figure four rear naked choke by wrapping my legs around his waist, and restricting the blood flow to his brain via the carotid arteries in his neck. Eventually, he lapsed into unconsciousness after a few seconds. After I was declared the winner, I brought him my water and helped him out of the ring. I’m not a heartless bastard, his people are nearly extinct, and he was fighting for their survival. I gave him my winnings that night. We remain friends to this day.

I fought a couple of times a week. I fought everyone that came my way. The more time you spend with super people the more you see their flaws. Their bodies, gestures, and movements belay their weaknesses if you know what you are looking for. Power comes with a price and everyone has a weakness. I used my time to make great social connections, new lines of business, and to study super villainy up close.

During the day, I developed the “Dark Web” as it is known today and digital currency. My “Dark Web” became the marketplace to sell super powered items, services, and procure anything a super villain might need. I designed the Dark Web to serve as an ebay for the criminally gifted. Have an Alien spaceship you want to sell? Want to buy or sell your Death Ray, Dragon Armor, Toxic Chemical, or Robot army? Super Villains make waves, they build things, buy services, or need to procure equipment. No one can build everything themselves or buy things off the shelf. People like us prefer to stay off the grid. I found a need and filled it. Check out “Evil’s” ebay for super criminals.

After setting up my Dark Website I created the first ever illicit digital currency. Super villain transactions are a cash only business and it necessitated the development of a secure digital currency. Both made me a fortune a few months after they were created. Since then hackers and others have developed their own versions to sell conventional weapons, third rate hitman, and drugs. Evil’s eBay became the interplanetary bazaar with annual sales in the tens of billions of dollars. I had multiple warehouses located around the world and a full time staff of robots shipping orders. In many ways I laid the ground work for Amazon.

Builder of the Month
This month's Builder of the Month is @Ice_Bear1! You may know him as the one in third person, always referring to himself as somebody else. He's known across servers so you shouldn't be surprised that you now see him on build. His hotel creation is quite beautiful. The architecture is very clean and colors work very well with each other. In the past, SMods have been in charge of tasks such as writing the Brawl News, managing Applications, and much more. Now, Mods and JMods can join Teams which perform these specific tasks. We hope this will ensure minor and major tasks getting done more efficiently around Brawl.

War 2.0 Released!
After years of waiting, the famous War 2.0 is finally here. Going through multiple versions, testings, developers, and much more, War 2.0 is a fresh first person shooter server, similar to Legacy War. Come play multiple Game-modes including ones from Legacy War (Team Death Match, Capture the Flag, Gungame, Free For All, One In the Chamber, Infect) but also newly created Game-modes such as Demolition, Domination, and Kill-Confirmed. Along with new Game-modes, we have created fresh guns, killstreaks, and perks. Enjoy!

MVP: Anchor, Frozen, Kangaroo, Tarzan, Viper

Featured Brawler
While playing CTF, what do you notice? Is it really really hard to capture the flag? Yes. Yes it is. If you want to learn how to cap with ease, I'd suggest taking lessons with this guy. He has over 2,000 captures on CTF and he can do it with any class. He's a medic main, but he can play pretty much any class. Along with being a CTF God, this guy is a really fantastic community member and has a lot of really great ideas to improve the server. @ningeek212 is the man, the myth, and the legend. Be sure to give him a pat on the back, and say congrats!
