    Aight, so as you know archer is a very touchy class to rework, you go too far one way & you make it useless. You go too far the other & its archer rn. I think I've thought up a way to solve this issue & the bowspam issue for the most part.


    Goal: Fix archer's evil bowspam & OP headshot ability


    Unchanged: Armor, Sword, steak, Compass, Stupid Class selector


    Changed:

    First of all, reducing the arrow count down to 64 will reduce the chance of bowspam, encourage accuracy, & hopefully get archers to realize that medics are actually important to the game

    Secondly, Remove punch & that annoying strength Vs chemists


    Finally the long description of the Archer Bow

    -At 5 blocks or more away from the archer, the bow will always do 1 heart of true damage+bow damage, but have 0 knockback

    -At 10 blocks or more away, the bow will do 2 hearts of true damage+bow damage.



    After 10 blocks of range, the bow will deal knockback


    -At 15 blocks or more away, the bow will deal 3.5 hearts of true damage+bow damage.

    -At 20 blocks or more away, the bow will deal 5 hearts of true damage+bow damage


    At 25 blocks or more away, any arrow impact sound is replaced by the "tool breaking" sound (like turrets when their destroyed), which is much louder and should be more noticeable by players.

    -At 25 blocks or more away, the bow will deal 7 hearts of true damage+bow damage, this will kill most classes in one hit.

    -At 30 blocks or more away, the bow will deal 9 hearts of true damage+bow damage, which should kill everything but potentially a heavy in 1 hit.



    With this rework of sorts, Archer is made to stand a chance against heavily armored classes, while also removing bowspam (classified as "spamming the bow with as little charge as possible to create knockback) as a possibility. It keeps archer as a viable class for long range conflicts, while also alerting players that an archer has them in their sights, and their arrows are at a deadly range.


    Makes those pesky cappers's think twice from playing medic to prot from pyros, an archer can come along and 1shot them, while heavies are much less likely to die.


    While it does potentially weaken them at shorter range, archer was never really supposed to be a short ranged class, & ya have a sword for a reason. (Also, you would at least deal a full heart of damage to players at 5 blocks, while sacrificing any knockback, it would still be useful for heavier armored players.

    I don't think scaling damage is the way to do it. I originally thought it was a good idea too until I realized that doesn't really change anything but make it stronger at medium range.
    This system especially would cause a lot more "bs". Sometimes you knock the other archer back because it wasn't 30 blocks but their shot after you knocked them back was. It would cause a lot more of that ^^.

    TBH archer should have a mana bar like chemist/elf/soldier, spamming in melee/mid range is extremely annoying to fight against.

    thank you someone thought of this aswell +1. Also ye removing the 2 second slowness 2 that is applied to chemists would be lit too

    I like this idea, I can't tell you how many times I am unable to walk 10 blocks from my base because there are archers camping out and headshotting everyone. +1
