If you have that problem, please follow these simple directions:
Step 1: Press your inventory button.
Step 2: Move your cursor over the "flag".
Step 3: Press Q or whatever your initial drop button is.

I'm pretty sure that will work, but then again, this is a server so don't expect Minecraft to be in any way apart of it.

 

Question: Do you use the scroll wheel?

 

Just shift click the class selector into your inventory before you steal the flag. Problem solved

 

I think this is a small part of a larger issue- the class selector just takes up an unnecessary slot which can really screw you over if accidentally opened during combat. My understanding is that most regulars just type in the class they want to be- so the change could benefit a larger proportion than engi/chem with the flag. A command to remove the selector would be a huge help to everyone who doesn't need it.

 

Personally i have developed a routine of always removing the thing from my hotbar every time i spawn, although i completely agree with you and i think i made a suggestion like this earlier, my problem however is mainly that it gets in the way of combat (trying to steak and instead you accidentally open class selector which is basically a death-sentence)

They could do as they have in war, that you have your "loadout selector" (war equivalent of class selector) fixed in your inventory (bottom right slot right above hotbar) and you just leftclick it to open it up.
