Idea Support Class Concept

    Just floating an idea. Specifics are up for discussion.
    The idea is to make a support class that's incredibly powerful when used in tandem with other players, but next to useless alone.

    Low armour and damage output.

    Aura 1: Reduced Mobility
    Affects enemies in a 5 block radius.
    Active while holding an item; no cooldown.
    All enemies one stage slower.
    Pearls unusable.
    Wall-climb unusable.
    Wind element unusable.

    Aura 2: Increased Defense
    Affects allies in a 5 block radius.
    Active while holding an item, no cooldown.
    All allies including the user gain Resistance II.

    Aura 3: Modified Healing

    Affects allies and enemies in a 5 block radius.
    Active whole holding an item, no cooldown.
    All allies slowly regenerate health.
    Enemy Medic healing unusable.

    (Aura 4: Speed III

    Affects the user.
    Active while holding an item, no cooldown.
    Unusable while holding the flag.
    This one's in brackets because I don't like having too much going on, and while it's a cool ability I feel like the class would probably be fine without it.)

    I think the concept is pretty cool, but maybe would be better to see it incorporated into a medic/chemist change rather than a stand-alone class. I like the idea of crippling enemy's mobility when close, but it might be a bit too strong inside a flagroom.

    The concept as a whole definitely has some potential. When you go to make it into a class, think about what would make it unique, and what would also make it super powerful, and what would make it weak. Also, try to envision problems with the class. For example, by not having a cooldown, you could easily glitch out the system and take advantage of minecraft effect durations and lag by rapidly switching between two or more auras. Rapidly switching between slowness and resistance could endlessly give all surrounding enemies slowness and all surrounding allies resistance at the same time.

    Perhaps consider a system where each aura is permanently active when you click on the item and can be switched at will, but has a 5 second cooldown once switched off. E.G. I start off with no aura, activate the slow aura, which is active until i activate a new aura. Once I activate the defense aura, the slowness aura goes away and can't be activated for additional 5 seconds.

    nice idea, I'd highly recommend thinking about cooldowns though. This class would also be too OP in a flagroom, so maybe some restriction could be put down, similar to engineer and necro.

    This would be used for people who are actually teaming in casual games in order to play the objective. In my knowledge that doesn't occur too often and would render this class useless, as you stated yourself, on its own. I agree with Spades that it could possible be connected / partially implemented in what chemist or medic can do but in general I don't think this is what ctf really needs at this moment.

    The concept of a support class that's supposed to be strong when used with other people, but weak by itself is what medic is supposed to be. I did find the idea of aura in your class concept to be unique and intriguing, but I could see this class turning into a nightmare in casual gameplay. In short, the idea is interesting, but the auras are way too overpowered in my opinion. Besides, what the majority of players have been asking for is a free recovery class. Try to think in that respect and I think you'll come up with a great class. Thanks for the idea!
