When you go into the "Booster" section on the Brawl shop (or just /booster in-game) and scroll through Capture the Flag's booster options, you'll only notice two available selections: Map and Credit booster. Another potential way for brawl to make money off of CTF is to add a "Class Booster":

    Class Booster Specifics
    • Time lengths would be 1 hour, 3 hours, and 6 hours (Same as the other boosters)
    • Info: All classes will be available for the amount of time selected above
    • Price: Anywhere from $1.99 USD to $3.99 USD
The main incentive for earning credits in CTF is to purchase the classes. With this booster active, people won't have to wait until Friday to test out and enjoy the classes. I see this as a way for players to have more than 1 day to experience the classes, and for Brawl to make a little extra money in the process. Let me know what you think!

I think this is a great idea! In my opinion, I think maybe perhaps just instead of all classes being available- perhaps just one? And have a different price for all classes? For example: $1.99 USD for one class and then $3.99 USD for all? (and of course would vary to the amount of time) Its a great idea and I think it would possibly work. But it also may defeat the purpose of free Friday.

Wouldnt this render the whole credit system useless though? Hence it’s way easier to get credits with assassin than heavy for example (speaking from he pov from a new player)

    1. Makes credits useless
    2. I'm sure people would prefer to just buy the class for a permanent amount of time.
    3. Makes freedays less of a want for the non regulars
    4. Price would be too low if to use that price in my opinion
    5. Most players now own all the classes for regulars that actually know the store and buy boosters

Generally don't think it's a good idea just my opinion

Would really depend on how many boosters would be bought. Besides, once people have all the classes the credit system becomes useless.

I suppose to address this concern, this specific booster could be made player specific instead of server specific.
    1. My opinion same as for unifer response
    2. True, but if people do end up buying the booster it would equal more profit for brawl. Like the "hacker" tag. People said no one would buy it because it was $50, but some people did buy it.
    3. I don't see the problem with this one, if they would choose to spend money instead of playing for free in the laggy mess that is free Friday, then why not let them?
    4. I don't really understand the wording of this issue, but the price is around the same as the other boosters. Maybe you could clarify this for me?
    5. True, but doesn't that also apply to the credit booster? If most regulars only know where the store is, and most regulars have all the classes, then by that logic the x2 credit booster shouldn't exist.

Thank you for your response, but would it really be that bad to add another money making option? Worst case scenario would be few people buy it, but that would still be more money made then people playing for free on Friday.

Another money making option in which most people would be avoiding and just buying the classes permanently instead of wasting Money for 1 hour to play a class which would equal out to spending less money just buying them all than spending it on the boost to try them out for 5 days...
I get it's a money making system but it's one that won't be used and we could be doing something else that can be

I think the intention is more for people who miss Friday, or don't like playing on Friday. If they're testing the class out, then they'd probably be more likely to decide which one they want. Then they can make an informed decision on which class to buy with credits, or with money. Or if people have friends who would like to try out a class, but don't know where the store is, a regular could purchase it for someone else.

I understand why you're skeptical of the idea, and there probably are better options for money making, but every little bit helps. Do you have any suggestions I could use to improve the thread? What do you think this idea needs to make it a better option for implementation?

Neat idea, but if it’s 1.99 or .99, or even 3.99 then why not just spend the 2.99 for the class to keep forever? Classes are fairly cheap, and I doubt anyone would only pay for a limited time to play. People aren’t that generous here, they’re either buying themselves the kit or earning the credits. It’s a decent idea for making money, but not enough people are going to want to go through with it. -1 from me :/

My problem with this is that imo noone will buy this. A good amount of the premium classes are barely played at all, and the average regular owns the other ones. For example, ninja, a premium class, has a higher playrate than any free class. That means that people are buying the class for around the same price that a 6 hour booster would cost. The thing here is that 90% of the playtime they'd put in during that booster would be on ninja.

The biggest question I have here is as follows. Why would I buy a booster to get a few classes for a limited time when I can spend the same amount to get ninja forever and just rely on free-day to play the others?

Hm, you're right. No one would buy it. The price would have to be significantly lower for people to consider it, and with free day it would be ultimately useless.
