    hi we are testing engineer tweaks starting this friday at 1pm est for 1 week

    the tweaks:
    - the heal aura now gives Regeneration III when it's held, instead of clicking it (as suggested here https://www.brawl.com/threads/75173/)
    - the grenade launcher has an increased cooldown of 3s
    - the pickaxe now has Sharpness I, Knockback I is removed

    I think engineer should get a sword because the pick was originally meant for the turret but now its gone so the pick is no longer needed.

    The tnt cooldown is way too long also. It's a huge nerf. By 3 seconds in a fighting scenario means you can only use tnt once per fight. - unless by compromising time you increase tnt damage or decrease damage and increase time - now it's just heavy with one time tnt throw at person. For me I personally use tnt more as a slowing down or pushing away item - I do use it for damage but i mean the main purpose would be to use it as sort of like a wind element feature + damage together.
    Maybe try less cooldown and less damage? I think that would be good

    I like idea of holding cake - that's quite good to try it out I'm excited to see

    Maybe sword with kb1? So it won't turn into a fully PvP class like chemist or heavy.

    One thing I find annoying is when you step on a new Speed Pad when your speed is about to run out and it doesn't give you speed. This can be costly, especially if you have the flag. I think it would be good if new pads you place down would give you speed regardless of whether you have speed.

    Also, I'm a bit confused by the change to the grenade launcher cooldown because I measured 4 sec. Could you please elaborate on this?

    I completley agree. Its super annoying when you ALREADY have speed 2 and you step on a pad and it doenst give you speed 2. I mean for assassins if they click their speed dust 2 times it donest cancel out it just extends the time so can we do that for engineer?

    More of a desired suggestion on my part but would there be any room for possibly enabling engineer to have a tnt jump capability in the future, where the player can launch themselves with their grenade launcher at the possible expense of getting hurt preforming the feat poorly or something?

    It seems like it’d be op to implement this with how engi is at the moment for sure but it seems like too fun of a concept to waste with the class

    This is definitely an interesting rework, and I have been enjoying my time testing it.
    However, I have 2 questions I would like to ask seeing as this might be added (???).
    1. What will you do for Achievements w/ engineer (especially where u have to "Activate" the healing aura)?
    2. Will the death tag remover ability on healing aura be removed? because if not this will make a major difference while defending carriers while they are trying to hold

    lol i see nobody asking for the turret back like cmon guys dont you miss doing jack**** ****ing nothing and getting a 10 killstreak at the same time?

    Here is my take on the engineer rework

    Holding Cake - It's not bad this holding cake idea. I would however like it if it gave me regen 3 instantly when held, instead of waiting 1 second for it. In battle, you won't have time to wait 1 second while the opponent is hitting you. It does work with sharp 1, since sharp 1 does damage comparing to kb 1. The healing aura with scout is a bit of a problem. I'd say if we are going to add INSTANT REGEN WHEN HELD, and PERM REGEN 2/3 WHEN HELD, remove the cake ability of removing death tag.

    Tnt cooldown - tnt cooldown is too long. Realistically you are using it once per fight, so you are dependent on sharp 1. It has become more of a melee class with only like a once tnt per round kind of thing. Engineer is known for its tnt. Make the tnt cooldown back to normal again.

    Sharp 1 - sharp 1 is great of course there is a huge difference in playing engi by sharp 1.

    Sword? - The main purpose of the pickaxe back when engineer had a turret was:

    Holding pickaxe = Turret was active and shooting = because the engineer was so op with the turret, the assassin could kill the engineer with the dust because they are holding a pick

    Holding sword = turret was not active and into manual mode = the engineer had now no shooting machine so could block the assassin trying to kill them.

    Now that the turret is gone the pickaxe serves only as a symbol of the old engineer. Maybe try give engineer swords. I mean the only reason why a class wouldn't be able to block is because they would be too powerful or something. Pyro has an axe because if a pyro has frenzy and coming he is basically unstoppable unless an assassin comes. Engineer is NOT that powerful anymore so why can't it block? The turret is gone so its just like any other chemist / mage / heavy? It has no major threat when approaching so why can't it block like other classes?

    Achievements - reading powermoves quote. The engineer achievement is too easy compared to other classes. We have some capping 100 times, killing 1000 players even as elf or killing 1000 as assassin. Engineer does need higher achievements set as I think they are too easy to do. There is nothing skill involved in those achievements. Clicking healing aura 1000 times is not something out of the ordinary. Hopefully with my suggested engineer updates engineer achievements could become more difficult and the class be more recognised instead of clicking healing aura 1000 times. I'd be happy to clear all engineer achievements and start over.

    Also for the engineer tag, Bomberman sounds very ordinary and blunt. I was thinking some like,

    Mechanic
    Explosive (something explo....)
    Bomber
    Exterminator

    I will find more names but I find bomberman too ordinary.

    But seriously, I’m so happy #buffregenerator may become a reality just as I come back to my gaming ways

    Some thoughts so far: removing knockback I reduces its viability in a defensive role, if this was the goal, Good Work!, If not, I would suggest that part is reverted.

    For the TNT, I personally feel it is slightly too long, maybe a second or two less, but its not so big of an issue, you can still do a lot of damage as long as your not singled out or in a 1v1.

    Regenerator, YES! At long last, a weapon to rival medic, functioning amazingly as a crowd healing thing, and I like that you have to choose whether you want to heal or deal damage, and with the TNT nerf, you are even further pushed with that choice. I love it, though a nerf down to regen II could be necessary.

    All in all, its a great rework, though it leaves engi very vulnerable when singled out. Again if this was the goal, fantastic. Otherwise, may need a tweak but idk how to go about that. Great work guys!
