General Rule Updates

Hello Brawlers,

to account for community feedback and to ensure our rules and punishments are more consistent, we are implementing some changes.


Continuous Rule Violations (CRV)

From now on, accounts will receive a punishment for continuous rule violations if they have a total of 15 or more punishment within 3 months. Punishments across accounts do not stack up.

If only 2 or less of the punishments are kicks/tempbans and all others are mutes, the punishment will be a permanent mute. This mute can be appealed after a minimum of 90 days just like a CRV ban. If 3 or more of the punishments are kicks/tempbans, the account will still receive a ban.

If an account was banned for continuous rule violations before, the punishment will be issued after only 8 further punishments within 3 months. The same distinction between a permanent mute and a ban still applies.

We reserve the right to issue the punishments earlier for extreme cases. You can find the complete, updated protocol below:

If a player currently has more than 15 punishments within 3 months, they will only be punished based on this upon the next rule violation. This does not change the punishments for previous CRV bans.


Disallowed Macros Update

In the past, we have allowed all macros as long as they open chat. However, as this leaves the potential for hugely advantageous automation of tasks on some servers, we have decided to limit allowed macros further.

For a macro to be allowed, it now needs to fulfill the following criteria:

• Only chat/command macros are allowed.
• A macro must open chat. It cannot send chat/command without opening the chat bar.
• The button/key used to trigger a macro must be pressed manually.
• A single button/key can only execute 1 chat message or command.
• A macro cannot automatically trigger, or alter itself based on data from the game.

This change comes into effect on the 8th of June.


Vanilla Minecraft Bugs

Standard Minecraft includes a number of exploitable bugs which can provide benefits similar to hacked clients. From now on, abusing these bugs will be considered major abuse and players will receive according warnings.

You can find a list of these disallowed bugs on the rules page. They currently include:

• Pressing F3+A repetitively to see other players through blocks.
• Freezing your client to give yourself an advantage similar to anti-knockback.

Please note that if abusing such a bug and using a hacked client is indistinguishable for staff members, you can still be punished for cheating. Abuse of such a bug will not be accepted as an excuse. This change comes into effect on the 8th of June.


Warning System Changes

We have made some changes to different warning categories so that the first warning does not carry a punishment. From now on, this will be used instead of a soft or verbal warning. This allows us to track who previously received such a warning, so that they can be punished more severely straightaway.

We would certainly appreciate if all players abided all rules, but no, we do not expect it. Depending on the specific glitch there are signs that can help us identify abuse with enough certainty to punish for it. Additionally, players sometimes self-incriminate and this allows us to punish if they do.

 

No, the punishment for CRV is now only a regular ban. If you get three regular bans however, you and and all alts will be permbanned.
