Will there be a war 2021 event?

    Just wondering if we will get to play war as a nostalgia event this year.

    Having war come back once a year would certainly make quite a few people very happy. :two_hearts:

    I like this idea if it were possible. Even other games like hg I'm sure will make alot of people happy

    War is a removed game mode, so the event cannot take place there.

    We don't have any plans at the moment. Unfortunately it's not as simple as just booting the gamemode up for an event, we'd need to test the gamemode to make sure it works on the network (since often backend changes can break things, and we only fix these problems for gamemodes we currently have up). War is unlikely to work because of how old it is.

    HG doesn't work on the network anymore, it would require a large update to get it to work again.

    We'd love to do events for removed gamemodes, but it's just not feasible at the moment. Devs are already working on 6 custom gamemodes - a lot for a server of our size - and we can't afford to stretch our resources further by testing and updating a gamemode just to do a one-off event.

    I love how the devs at brawl have been working on x gamemodes for the past years and nothing happened.
    Well, not here to judge... but doing a war event would've been a really great early christmas present. Sad that it won't happen.
