Um actually no, homework should not be a problem for anyone. The reason why people are leaving is because they just blatantly suck at using their time correctly. I am a Sophomore in Highschool and I am taking AP and PSEO plus full IB courses and homework is nothing if you actually take the time to do it. It takes me like 4 hours to finish it then I have the rest of the night to game and come on the forums.

The real problem people are leaving/not using the forums is because there really is no point to use them, aka there isn't much to accomplish other than meeting new people, trying to become a mod, and finding tips to get better.

If you guys want more people to stay you have to make them want to achieve something. People these days are so caught up in being the best so why not try to make our active members on the server try to be the best on the forums.

    So the solution:

I think we should add an achievement system to the forums. Instead of having people fill in ranks like I have "VIP" under my name we have a system that gives people ranks by the number of posts they have or number of likes they have. This will make people post more and try to be active more so they can get the best rank. Of course spamming may occur but that is why we have so many mods here to help out. This could also lead to in-game prizes but for now maybe just try it out.

I know for damn sure it is really cool to have a Mod tag under your name so why not also have a little rank thing? Just something to think about.

    *End long ass post*

Keep in mind that people work at different speeds, and some schools give harder homework, are stricter, and even have projects every few weeks. School is a main issue. Look at some of our inactive moderators, they left because school was a huge part of there life (not to point fingers, but I think Strokk was inactive from school). Another thing, after school activities/tutoring are also HUGE parts of school. If you play sports, are in a few clubs, or sing in a choir that takes some time out of your day, AND you still need to do homework. Social lives take a lot of time too!

We do have a form of achievements on the forums, they are our trophy points. You get them for posts, likes, etc. Some of us like to compete to be on the member front page list, but we also make sure we do not spam post.

The forums are here to discuss the servers. Unless you want to get the most likes and post count (without spamming), there is not supposed to be a goal for the forums other than helping new players, creating new ideas for the servers, or just discussing.

Moko is true when he says that the majority of registered users make mod apps, then leave. If you do not believe me, look at the denied mod apps for people who are new, and see how many you have never heard of or do not continue to post on the forums. Obviously, there are many other reasons for people leaving, but this one is a good point.

I think the main reason people are leaving is not school or mod apps. The main reason, I think, is how they're always being looked down upon by higher members in the community, who simply just ignore them. And of course, nobody likes being ignored, so they quit when they can't get any attention. People want instant fame, but life doesn't work that way. You have to earn your fame, and some people just can't respect that.

A large majority of the people come to post a mod application on the forums. Then leave when it is not accepted. There is nothing that we can do about this. Shouldn't the people know not to create an application after all the warnings we give them on their intro? Honestly, there is no one else to blame other than themselves for getting the criticism obtained on their application. They were warned. And they did what was not wanted. They jump in to get mod. If the rank was not obtained, they leave. Their only goal is obliterated. That's that. Is there anything we can do to change their goal? What other could they want? Popularity is one. But becoming popular is something that takes time for some. Others might not need that time. Anything else on the forums? Not much appeals to the new member.

And then to the old and known ones. The reason why people leave varies over a large amount of ground. If it is not one thing, it is another. Their reason for leaving depends greatly. School, people, loss of interest, etc. And above. They begin to get hated. I am aware of the people that have left who are well-known and liked. They left for school, loss of interest, or problems that are around them in real life, causing them to not have time to play anymore. I myself might leave. Mod apps have never been a problem to me. The way we grade is fine by me. If the person cannot take what is being posted, then yes, they are not ready. One thing that happens with grading though is the sheer number. Continuously typing the same thing other and over again gets tiring. But there is nothing that can be changed about that. The forums might be dying. But everything dies in time.

Maybe Tac was right about what he said in his rant. He is right and we refused to accept it and change ourselves.

I agree with this post so much. From what I have seen of the moderator applications people are just so cruel to these new comers. If I was a a kid who didn't understand what it takes to become a staff member on McBrawl, I would feel rejected, and I would not want to be active on the forums or in game anymore. I also think a lot of players make it sound like they are in charge of who gets picked. When they only provide an opinion and most of the time have a very small influence over who is picked.

This has made rethink my ways of judging staff applications. This made me realize there was only 2 or 3 responses I posted to staff apps that were helpful and positive while explaining what they did wrong and what they need to improve on. Most of my responses to staff apps were lists of what they did wrong.

Thanks for making this post @Mokolee

I agree with this thread a ton. The only problem was one of your ideas. The "-1" one.

They could always just look in their poll (if they have one)
