How to Raid and not get Raided

How to Raid:​

1. Get good armor and supplies. If you do not have diamond armor or enchanted iron armor, it is harder to raid a base with players in it. Have good enchanted swords either iron or diamond to fight off the base owners. You can also get an enchanted bow which would help if you were on low health running away, that way you could shoot them until they are on low health and turn the tables on them.

3. Get a tracker. Trackers are useful for finding bases when there are members in them. If you have the supplies armor and weapons at the time you could go ahead and raid them. If you do not, don't risk it and set a warp or write down the coordinates so you can raid it later when it is empty. 4. If you are in a base raiding, take only the valuables and not the common items. Taking the valuables from the chests and maybe even the base will help you create more wealth in your own team. Another thing to do is blow up or excavate the surrounding area for hidden chests that might contain their extremely valuable stuff.
5. Raid as a team or group of at least two. Having more team members while raiding is always a good idea. You can overtake your enemies easier and if there are no enemies it helps halve the time you are in the base. You can both take items and get out of there before the team comes back.
6. If you are willing to go undercover and be daring, you can ask a team to join them and scout their base. Then you can create your own warp into the base and raid it. Afterward you can be re invited back into your own team. Side effects may include: extreme hate between you and your team with theirs.
7. If there is a bed in the enemy's base destroy it so they cannot respawn. This way they will respawn at spawn and you can take more time to loot their chests before they come back. (@teawithchoco)

How NOT to be Raided​

1. Do not make your base too close to spawn. This way it will be easy for people to find and raid it. I suggest going waaaaay far out near the edge of the map or at weird coordinates in the middle of nowhere for your base.
2. Make your base at the bottom of the world. (Do not create a base in the open on land for raiders to easily find and raid) This way the raiders will have trouble getting to it and actually finding the base. You will have to make a warp to the surface though, but it will be worth the trouble. (Unless you want to walk up stairs that take you 5 min to get where you want or drown in a water flow)
3. Having a base in the Nether is not a bad idea. Raiders will need a nether portal to get to it and if you make it under lava they will have a really tough time getting to it. I suggest not making a base in the End even though it is hard to get an End portal. The End is a small land area and the people who do have access to it could find you base easily.
4. For valuable items; put them in chests that are hidden or out of sight in the base. This way the raiders will go through the base and miss them. That way, you still have all your valuables.
5. Another suggestion on where to put your valuables is not actually in the base. Put them in a completely different location, if the raiders find your base they will not know where all the valuable stuff is. You will only need to warp to this place for maybe a minute or less to get your stuff and get out, the tracking will not work.
6. Never go afk in your own base. That is a death sentence to your base. If you go afk for maybe 10-20 min. in that time somebody could track you down, kill you, and raid your base before you get back.
7. Do not invite anybody untrustworthy into your team. They can be a rouge operative (like said above) and just raid you base when you are not there. If you are getting a bad feeling about them, let them enter the team as a guest (just part of team, cannot use warps unless specified for guests) so you can see if they are trustworthy.
8. If you are posting something on the fourms with a picture or video about your base do not press f3 beforehand. This shows the coordinates to your base so people can find it.

Well, if it was a tiny base, bows could be useful for keeping the enemy back since they do produce a bit of knock back. Also, in a tiny base the closer you are the more shots you can get off without having to really aim.

Well then, I don't believe that in that kind of a situation you should use a bow.
