    With the new snapshots of 1.9 coming out soon, I was wondering of the general community's opinion on if we should update to 1.9 (and basically have to remake CTF in general) or stay in 1.8. Feel free to politely debate on your opinion in the comments below. I personally don't want to update to 1.9, but I'd like to see the rest of you guys think.

    Well, seeing as the majority of the minecraft population will eventually move to 1.9 brawl will have to update at some time to stay popular and maintain a playerbase.

    my personal opinion is that we should wait til we have an update to fix the changes introduced in 1.9 and keep everything balanced, such as the changes to blocking and assassin

    Maybe not immediately but eventually once we get all the classes sorted out with the combat changes

    Yes, Brawl will eventually have to update, but would they have to update CTF too? I've seen 1.8 servers with some parts still accessible with 1.7. Could Brawl just leave CTF in 1.8?

    They can, but they will lose tons of players due to it. If the average minecraft player upgrades to 1.9, which almost definitely will happen, they won't want to have to downgrade to join a server.

    With 1.9 coming out soon, the entire pvp experience will change because of dual wielding. But we can never stay in the past, rather keep moving forward. :smile:

    Well we aint even out of Beta... But in making any changes, fixes, edits, or whatever for the full release of CTF, the developers need to keep in mind the next future update of 1.9, and that they'll need to update CTF once again for that. So maybe just keep CTF in its Beta stage until 1.9 releases, and then fix all that needs to be fixed at that point, so less knit-picking work goes to waste.

    Pretty much @Miskey said is what I think about this. I mean ... yeah I don't like 1.9 any more than the next guy but it's nice and convenient for Brawl to update and keep an update-happy player base rather than lose most of that base by refusing to update.

    Yes. We would never, ever not update to newer versions. I don't believe that's up for debate.

    Welp, MC is going to go to ****.. Wasent MC know for its simplicity? Now there making it all confusing and stuff. Bad idea, soon it wont even be a sandbox game.
