    Am I the only one who would prefer CTF to stay in 1.8 without the combat updates to **** everything up?

    Since when can you not parry with a sword? If there going for relisem here you should ALSO be able to block with a sword but it would be less effective. But this isent a Mojang fourms so what ever..

    Anyone else get a feeling that is going to be hard to get a headshot with 20+ shields running around?

    @SoCool i hope that an archer can still oneshot ppl in a distance of 30 blocks
    even when a player has his shield out (blocking)

    Arrows' tips would go through a shield, but you cant really hit somone through one unless the bow is strong as ****.. Also, now Archers and Pyros are going to have a shield? Dosent really make scene to me :c

    i mean an archer has his bow and he shoots form a distance of 30 blocks than every person is hs even if they have their shield up
    if an archer cant headshot a player who has a shield than the archer have a big problem in my oppinion because archers are made to snipe ppl from far away and if that doesnt work anymore than you cant use the archerclass anymore

    Shields should work the same as blocking does, and if it doesn't then it will probably be able to be changed.
    Mostly included Pyro because they looked awesome, but Archer can already block now and removing its ability to block would change it (and could be a good nerf, but even so).

    Using banners isn't going to look so great when you hold it. Especially when you're seeing the back of it.

    Banners aren't literally going to be the shield. You can customise the colour and pattern of the shield by making a banner and including it in the shield crafting recipe.

    You cannot decide by now which classes are going to get a shield and which not. My pyro for example is offense oriented and won't have a shield...

    Your pyro might be offence oriented, but CTF's pyro is not.

    Nice strawman. Any pyro could be CTF's when it's applied through coding. Don't forget that the supposed ''defensive pyro'' defends by instakilling, thus in theory it shouldn't even be a fight, thus no shield necasarry for pyro regardless.

    I think you can still block/right click with swords, but you just don't see the animation in 1.9

    In some of those 1.9 minecraft vids on youtube they said that you cannot block anymore with a sword...
