Idea Non-Donor Server For CTF

I'm sorry, but not all premium classes are OP. Only pyro and chemist are really hugely OP, and those will be nerfed along with soldier. Additionally, another server wouldn't be good because it would split the community. As far as implementation of an XP or credit system, I'm all for it.

 

People could still buy all the kits and play. There really is no other point to get premium just for ctf. You could just buy all the kits and save a lot of your money, rather than renewing vip/mvp/elite

 

Non-Donor servers = Friday, now you understand why I no-life Free Fridays. Also if a server like that would be added, there would be like 500 people on that server, and none in the actual CTF games. Making it useless for making a server like that, it would ruin the purpose of donating as well, and would totally throw off CTF. No offense doe.

 

To be fair, a classes OPness comes from the player that uses it. Saying that CTF is "pay to win" is a really silly assumption when soldier (a free class) is one of the best and most used capping class out there and archer (another free class) can be extremely overpowered when used correctly. Not to mention, have you tried recovering off of good medics? It's a pain in the butt. Heavy can be a complete tank when played correctly. Not to mention, 3 out of the 4 free kits have some of the highest armor in the game, and medic is pyro-proof and has infinite regen. I probably have an equal amount of deaths from free classes as I do from premium classes, both of which can be sometimes easy and sometimes hard as hell to kill. Adding a non-doner server would not be a good idea because
1. Recoving off of a heavy medic team? Or a wallspamming soldier? Near impossible unless you are a god pvper or you outping them so much that you are basically hitting a stationary body
2. Defense would be hell without premium classes. A soldier or medic could probably get through nearly any defense 9/10 times unless you had 10+ heavies on defense.
3. Most of the game would be stalemates and not fun to play due to recovery being near impossible.
4. Learn to play around the premium classes. It's not that hard, and a free class can be just as OP as a premium one can.

 

Also building on my counter... most of the people who have bought kits are extremely good, considering they've been no-lifing CTF for years :V. They are really used to the class and know how to use it professionally.

 

Try getting your hands on a prepaid credit card, they're great for micro transactions

 

Assassin: Block with your sword. All free classes have a sword.

Chemist: Either be a pvp god or use archer to snipe from afar.

Dwarf: If it's just dwarf(s) then archer can shoot it(them) from out of reach.

Engineer: A skilled heavy can absorb the turret's damage while continuing to attack it. Archer can easily kill from long range. If directly attacking the engineer by melee, destroy the regenerator.

Elf: Close in and use close range combat. Elf is extremely weak in melee fighting.

Mage: Don't give the mage a chance to heal once you start attacking.

Ninja: Soldiers do well against them, heavies destroy.

Necro: It's so UP right now that just about anything can take it on ._.

Pyro: If you aren't a medic, then just do whatever is possible to not get hit if you are set on fire.

Fashionista: If you encounter one of these, you can't kill them ;-; it's simply too majestically powerful to die.

It's also worth noting that some 50% of captures are soldier and some 5-10% are medic.
Additionally, nothing scares a Mage, ninja, elf, or chemist more than a good heavy cornering them. I say a prayer that lightning spell is charged when that happens.

 

The most important problem with a non-donor server is that it does not pay off.
Every server we host costs money so we also need to gain money from every server. A non-donor server would get Brawl absolutely no money so the concept doesn't work.

I say no to this. Yes premium classes are annoying, but if you play free classes more, you will learn more strategies and you will be much better. I know quite a lot of people who main free classes and doesn't consider premium classes to be annoying. Also, having just free classes in a match is very boring and there wouldn't be a counter to soldier which could be extremely annoying, making soldier too OP. This would definitely cause people to complain.

 

This is harsh to say the least. If brawl were to set this up it would cost them money constantly. They have to make sure every server pays for itself otherwise they won't be able to sustain it in the long term. Like it or not, brawl is a business and has to breakeven, and this would go against that very notion.

OK, I see where you're coming from and some donator classes are overpowered. That doesn't mean you can't do really well with a free class. Take @wintergreen3 and her archery skills, or maybe @VN2004 and @MissFlea for their medic abilities. The real skill in a class comes from the player using it, and a good player can make any class OP. Additionally I'd say a lot of people agree that archer and soldier are OP classes too, and so it's not like there aren't overpowered free classes (though like the classes @Sir_Inge already mentioned, these are going to be nerfed). One final thing to mention, I know it's not always fun that you can't use a donator class, but Friday freeday does exist where you are able to use all the classes, which puts everyone on equal footing.

For the idea I'm gonna say no for all those reasons, but I do agree that some donator classes are OP and hopefully these will be fixed in due course

Well it depends what class you're maining. If you main Heavy, then you'll get shrekt by pyro, assassin, mage and engineer. If you play Medic, then same thing except pyro and add Ninja. If you play Soldier, then only Ninja, Mage and Engineer and if you play Archer, only Ninja and Mage on an unlucky day, only Ninja on a normal day and absolutely nothing on a more-than-average to extremely lucky day.

Sorry but the donations make the server to stay up, they cant afford it if no one helps...

And not all the kits are OP! Just pyro and mage (my opninion)/ the free kits are also good ( archer can insta-kill and soldiers can run forever), if its rly bothering you, try getting some money ( come on 5$) and buy a kit for you

 

I see where you're coming from as a free player, as these things have often bothered me, but the issue is that CTF isn't big enough to warrant the separation. Meaning, you'll end up with 5v5s or empty servers if you do this. Also, brawl needs its revenue, and free players don't make them revenue. Those who have payed often want to play with free players due to the advantage they have over free players. That occurs in many different games.
