Why are a lot of mage mains salty

Perhaps because they don't take well to being attacked over a solution to a problem??

I’m salty because I haven’t been able to play CTF for 3 weeks, and as such have been unable to test out any of the reworks, and as such have been unable to become extremely salty about the mage range nerf, nor am I able to test out the supposed ‘damage reduction’ of the damage spell, which I do believe @Sir_Inge posted something pertaining to the topic. Also, wool doesn't block my lightning.

 

Saying "this solution won't help anybody" is totally shooting down my idea. It shows you are immature or ignorant because you choose not to support a valid solution but instead to dismiss it entirely. There is no reason
the solution wouldn't work for the relatively large number of people who use my pack but you have chosen to overlook that to instead down me for seemingly no reason. Making this thread also shows your immaturity because the question asked is clearly asked as a result of your interaction with me which you found "salty" so rather than realize that you shouldn't be shooting ideas down you decide to try an indirect method of essentially whining about me. This shows you are defensive, and therefore find my point valid. Protest however you want; I already know I've won. Thank you.

And here you are attempting to indirectly insult me again by basically calling me mean. Defensive, you find my point valid, thank you. Additionally, the "most of the community" argument hurts you either way you spin it. If you argue that it doesn't help any CTFers, then I can refute your point by saying it does. If you argue that it helps some people, then WHY in lords name are you shooting down an idea that will help people? Basically, you decided to be negative for no reason. I don't take well to that.

Ya know if you are gonna call someone salty don't make an entire thread just to single out mages for being salty. Kinda makes you look salty to ya know?

 

Haven't seen a salty Mage. I guess I'm a bit salty at times? Why are Pyro's pricks? Why are Ninja's snooty? The world may never answer these questions because we will all be in one debate.

Just saying, if the damage was reduced from the damage spell along with the shorter range, this isn't exactly how one should go about nerfing mage. Mage itself relies on it's ability to keep it's distance from others to be able to stay self sustained, and the knockback on all of its spells allows a good mage to almost never be touched. The way to nerf mage would be to take the knockback off of the damage spell, not shortening the range or lowering the damage dealt. If you can get close enough to a mage, you can easily kill them since they have low armor, and their only healing ability can heal you too. Simply taking the knockback off of the damage spell (mage's main spell of attack) would significantly nerf mage, and allow you to more easily close that distance between yourself and said mage to kill them.

Yah know, I must say I agree here at least some what. The mages that play the most often in my opinion, (not going to say names here) tend to start or end up in arguments over stupid things. Mage is a surprisingly stressful class, having some of the weakest armor out there, and forced into only having a ranged attack can really be annoying when ganged on in CQB. It's a bit more difficult than right clicking and backpedaling.

Dont worry, mage is gonna become more powerfull in 1.9 bcuz of duel wielding spells and the hoe's quick cooldown time!
