The elf nerf... *laughs*

Wait, elf was nerfed? Lol. What was that nerf?

 

So the same could be said about assassin. Without assassinate, the iron sword barely does damage to some classes like heavy and other armored class. The assassin then has to either have very good pvp skills or hide due to the fact they will get 2-3 shot

 

I mean to be fair, I wouldn't exactly say it takes a ton of skill, just recognition. Once you find out how to counter something, for example defensive pyro as elf, it becomes pretty clean cut and repetitive to do.

I also disagree with the 'elf is one crap of a support class' statement. Removing fire from a flag carrier, slowing down recoverers with earth spell, blowing them back with wind element, etc... is a huge boost to your offense.

 

Yeah, I'm starting to play a lot more elf now after the chemist nerf. The fact it takes 2 arrows is a bit much in my opinion, maybe the wind element should have a cooldown of 5 seconds after one has used it 5 times? Then after the cooldown has ended, the elf can use it again for another 5 times at most, as long as they have the arrows of course.

Yes, however if you're good at strafing you can quite often take people out with your iron sword, especially as players usually block almost all the time when they see an assassin that's any good near them, thanks to the rubbish blocking detection that brawl seems to have *cough*

However, assassin is ridiculously OP when it has its assassinate, especially when the target is distracted.

 

I wouldn't say that assassin is op, it is just an all or nothing class. Yes it can imstantkill, but that is important in ctf when trying to kill a heavy quickly or trying to kill the flag cap. Also, keep in mind that the assassin can be intantkilled too when activating its Redstone.

 

Many assassins do this thing called 'faking' where they switch to their assassinate, then back to their sword without activating it. This occasionally tricks people because they think that it's ok to unblock because the assassin has used their assassinate and is no longer dangerous. Also, almost all the time people block before they get assassinated but thanks to brawls wonderful servers it doesn't work.

 

I was talking about your last paragraph when you said assassin is op. Are you saying it needs a nerf, or that this bug needs to be fixed?

Why does anybody play elf anyways? Why use a class that has less armour, hp, and offensive capability than say, archer? And archer is free!

Elf has a bunch of fancy capabilities that are entirely outdone by archer's headshots, always. Fire on the flagcarrier is not a problem when the pyro's dead, why slow an enemy down when he could just be dead, and the wind element is a more useless kb 2.

Guys. I mean, it's even got a shield that reflects archer arrows back at them. Which lasts for maybe 2 seconds and will always miss if the archer moves 1 block away. Even that is more useless than just shooting the archer back.

 

after playing with elf nerf for awhile, I agree that in the current state wind element is almost no use to elf. I believe in a post by nohox he said elf wind element was always meant to be used to hop from place to place (like tree to tree) I don't think the current wind element can meet that criteria. With almost any tree to tree jump you are going to need probably 2 punches, meaning 4 arrows, meaning 4 arrows taken from the offensive power of elf. If you are trying to use elf for combat, wind element is way too much of a risk. Each elf arrow takes 3 seconds to regen, so if you need to climb any structure more than 4 blocks, you will need 4 arrows. You better hope there is literally no one on the other team, because anyone within 68 blocks (The amount of blocks you can sprint in the time it takes elf to get enough arrows to go up "4 blocks") or else it's not an option. Again I'm going to say this, wind element needs a change to punish wind bow spammers, but not hurt the combat purposes of wind element.

 

Sure, the elf nerf sucks and everything but the thing that pisses me off the most is that it was nerfed so it wouldn't have better mobility than the "nerfed" soldier. I wonder whose idea that was!?
