This issue has only arisen due to the transfer. The old mcpvp forums were less kept in line, and a little more free to use. There were a lot of off topic forums in the ctf section, because the section was used by ctfers, though not necessarily just for ctf related things. However, this is brawl. This is a different place. The forums are different, and it is not our place to wander over to here and ask to change it as it isn't what we were used to. I can understand why this would be wanted, but you're just going to have to deal with this forum style.

@Xelia_ how about expressing wishes and maybe how about the staff tries to make the community happy by adding something that hurts literally no one, requires close to negative effort and is obviously wanted judging by the ratings this thread got

Honestly, moderators should be evaluated with the quality of their memes.

[Cant Quote @Plautius for some reason]
Unwillingness to adjust and being mad that the staff wont bend to your will is a problem that you must deal with.

The community must deal with not getting its will? Within a game? This isn't politics. This is a game, and as soon as the game is no longer fun, the community is gone. So how about giving the community its will? https://www.brawl.com/threads/54875/

    The forums =/= The game

I could argue the exact same thing. Democracy? Within a game? This isn't politics. This is a game, and as soon as the people who grow tired of the game leave, new people will fulfill the need. What use is there to please players who have already paid? The community already has what it wants: an Off Topic subforum. Wanting a new one for the express purpose of ignoring the majority of the brawl community is not really a democracy at all.

Honestly, I posted like two messages ever on the old forums, both of which were about my application to UnSeen (rip in peace). This isn't about what I'm used to, it's about what I always thought would be a nice thing to have ever since I actually got involved with the community, which was after the Brawl move.

If we wanna get political about it, then I suppose I have my chance to make endless hours of AP European History studying worth something. You see, it's more like the old Austrian Empire, around the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Hungary was technically part of the Empire, though they were always trying to remain independent. In this time period, nationalism had become a thing from the French Revolution, so more people were proud of their general nationality--the Hungarians were Hungarians, not Austrians, and they didn't want to be ruled by Austrians. Now let's put that on the infinitely smaller scale of this little CTF game: we're MCPVP people, who are now "ruled" by Brawl people. We're still proud of our origins, and we still have pretty much nothing to do with the Brawl people. (Also, just sayin', Hungary ended up being a sovereign state.)

Anyone feel free to rek me for historical inaccuracy. @Admiral_Memeson

They probably won't add the CTF off topic section. To be honest, I was really discouraged from posting here when one of my threads was moved to a global section because I just wanted to share my thread with the CTF community.

If I were brawl though, I would do anything that I could do to keep the CTF community happy. I know that at least a lot of people in the defiance chats don't like brawl very much right now.

@Palm_Top I like how you point out that brawl doesn't want to please people who have already paid as much as they want to please new players. I have given a whopping $0.00 of my money to brawl and I don't plan to give any more in the future. I believe that brawl cares about my kind the least.

@Palm_Top I have all the classes. But as long as I'm here, I also gift other players stuff and I, yes I do, also financially support Brawl because it hosts CTF for me, regardless of the fact I disagree with Brawl in every single way possible.
I guess we're talking, idk, 50 bucks or something I've spent on Brawl. Because I had reason to stay, to be involved in the community and to pay. Paying isn't a one-time business. Multiple classes, ranks and the gifting system should definitely make it worthwhile for Brawl to keep the regular community happy which they are also obviously trying to do (notice the two match servers).

... Wow. I just argued Brawl's point. xD

My solution is to get email notifications for CTF. That way you know what was posted on the CTF section before it was moved to other sections. Also you get to see all those anarchist posts before they're deleted.

@pookeythekid no mistakes there. Just remember history has shown nationalism is a bad concept (see Ernst Moritz Arndt and antisemitism in the early 19th century, the reasons for the outbreak of WW2, etc.).
I'd still call myself a CTF nationalist though (lmao) - considering how unwelcing I am towards Brawlers x)

Honestly I'd love to see this happen, it would add another thing to read if you've already read most/all of the threads in the general section. I don't know if it will happen though, because of what @Xelia_ said. I don't exactly agree with giving just CTF its own off-topic section just because "we're the CTF Community and Brawl is icky and isn't like MCPVP", but I'm not all that happy with the current system, either. It's true that it doesn't hurt anything by having it, so I guess I'd personally lean a little towards having the separate section. I know that it's difficult to get your threads moved even though they semi - relate to just CTF (cough cough my 2.5 year anniversary thread cough cough) but I guess this is just one of those things that we'll have to deal with.

Do you guys always go around life like that, adjusting five minutes after requesting a change? ._. I haven't seen a single statement from Brawl's side on this discussion, but if a community seems unhappy, there is more reason to change somethig than if they see "oh, they're fine anyway".

Nice. Way to completely ignore the underlying argument for a CTF-specific off topic section. Would you like to try that again?

    Wow.

You have given absolutely no reason as to why a CTF-specific off topic section should not happen. Instead you have ridiculously labeled this suggestion as elitist and selfish (which it is neither) because some people such as myself would like a section where we could have casual off topic discussions with other CTF'ers, you have totally ignored the purpose of the post by assuming that people want a CTF-specific off topic section because they are 'not willing to accept the fact that off topic posts are supposed to go in off topic', and you have labeled off topic discussion in CTF as a 'circle-jerk' (if I am understanding you correctly) which is offensive (community is largely pretty tame) and untrue.

I, and others, have given reasons for why this should be a thing. You have not given any response to that, other than that the off topic section is fine and this is not necessary, which once again takes nothing that has been said by proponents in this thread into account. Instead you have opted for insulting the intelligence of a number of people on this thread, taking the purpose of this thread way out of context, completely ignoring the point of this thread, and for repeating robotic, tone deaf one liners like 'off topic posts are supposed to be in off topic' that add literally nothing to the discussion.

I am neither angry, nor frustrated by your responses but it completely blows my mind that you (or a few others) are so opposed to a completely benign proposal such as this one. It is not 'elitist', it is not 'self centered', it is meant to encourage inter CTF community interaction and I, and quite a few other people in this section, see absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Good day to you sir/madam/possibly in between.

True, a bunch of revolutions did fail in the start of the 19th century cuz nationalism got out of control xD But can't say the American Revolution wasn't a success, eh? (unless you want to consider the fact that America now has a guy who thinks he can build the Great Wall of America as one of the leading presidential candidates)

So why not add an Off-Topic section to every one of Brawl's gamemodes? I'm absolutely positive that there are others in Brawl who would want to talk about casual topics with their friends who play their respective gamemodes more often than others. And then the current Off-Topic section could continue to be used as a section where threads are globally addressed to Brawl, instead of specific gamemodes. This could be beneficial to all of Brawl, not just CTF.

Like the my computer died. I posted a thread here for CTFers to read stating that my computer had crashed and I'd be gone until I got it fixed. A bunch of people read it.... BUT then it got moved. Nobody from CTF read it because it wasn't posted here for the CTFers to read.

An off-topic section for ever gamemode would be really cool. A place where the community members could talk about whatever they wanted, while keeping it just in that group of players. As of now, an off topic post will get replies from a lot of people who aren't part of the target group that the thread was intended for.
