Idea Soldier armor.

    I was thinking that Soldier's armor should be downgraded a bit. Mostly because most soldiers really don't even fight with the armor, it's like they just use their sword navigate around the map, rather then use it to fight at all. I know there are some soldiers that actually use it to fight and capture the flag, but they have pretty good armor. So I was thinking, that they could downgrade the Soldier's armor to Chain mail, legging and Chest plate, with leather boots and leather helmet (The helmet having Protection 1). Everything else the same. I already know some people aren't gonna like the idea, but I'm open for changes.

    The problem with soldier isn't its armour, the problem is its mobility. That's all that needs to be nerfed.

    i think this is a pretty good idea. would look weird tho
    correct me if im wrong. Basically your saying that its not good that it can climb walls? They already made a nerf to that and it was much more fun when they didnt have a set limit on how much they could climb before having to recharge. I dont think that would be a great idea but that's just my opinion.

    Soldier being able to climb walls isn't the problem, but you can do so almost limitlessly unless you wallspam. I rarely get effected by the mana system, meaning I can climb up trees and buildings and travel 80% of most maps without even touching the ground.

    Yes, the mobility does need a nerf, but the likes of anyone actually doing that are extremely low. I was just hoping that they could downgrade the armor at least to make the soldier easier to kill, since a majority of soldiers don't even use the sword itself to fight, but mainly to wall spam.

    Right now, I feel fine with how it is, but if you're going to nerf it's armor, at least buff something else. Soldier doesn't need to be nerded. In general, classes need to be buffed, not nerfed.

    Well, barley anyone uses the sword to fight as soldier, and if another steak is added that pretty much ruins the whole point of the nerf idea. I guess, but imo I don't think soldier should have good armor, if all they're gonna do is wall spam. Soldier itself seems like a pvp class, but barely anyone uses it that way, I could be wrong but doesn't soldier have the third best armor in the game? If were talking about offense then they have the second best armor. I personally don't like it cause all soldiers do is wall spam and run away, even though they have this good armor. An alternative could be to downgrade the sword to wood or stone, but that really wouldn't solve anything.

    Soldier hardly needs a nerf. It had it's wallclimbing hugely nerfed already.

    What, since when? What else would they use?

    I wouldn't go so far as to say it was hugely nerfed. It has been more nerfed for the people who spammed right click, instead of being conservative with the wallclimb. Like @SoCool21, when I play Soldier I am rarely affected by the mana.

    If what you say, "soldier's armor should be downgraded because they don't fight" is true, then downgrading their armor would just give them a harder time in your case. If they don't fight back and countless people are after them, the armor is likely what would make the class useful in any way. It doesn't make sense to nerf something because a small assortment of people don't play non objectively. A more fitting argument for your suggestion would be that they take minimal damage and need to take more, which I personally do not believe so.

    If soldier armor gets nerfed, I wasn't talking about increasing its steak, but instead making it more mobile or giving it a stronger sword. Anyway, this nerf is unecessarry, because instead of nerfing all of the strong classes, we should buff all of the weak classes. This way, players won't have to adjust to their new class that has just become another necro. Instead, they'll be keeping the aspects of their class, and then getting a boost and possibly some new fun and op strats.

    They don't fight at all, they just run. That's basically where I have been getting at. There are some soldiers that do fight instead of just run, but not many. I do agree it's been nerfed a bit, it's not gonna really be added either way.

    You do make a good point, but the real problem I have is the mobility with the soldier, the mobility makes it insanely hard to recover, especially if you're anything but soldier. Yeah there's ninja that can help you recover, but if you're like me and you don't have any classes currently unlocked and are stuck with the four free classes, it's difficult to get to the soldier carrying the flag. But if the wall climb is nerfed anymore soldier will also become useless.

    I'm confused. You say that the real problem you have with soldier is the mobility, but then you say if its mobility was nerfed, then it'd be useless. Do you want soldier's mobility to be nerfed along with its armor also? Maybe I misunderstood, but if so, that'd make soldier way too weak. Anyway, you also say that it is insanely difficult to recover off of a soldier, but that's not exactly true. Soldier has a trade off. Compare it too heavy capping. Soldier may be able to avoid a few more hits then heavy, but heavy can tank way more damage, and kill ninjas that are trailing it quicker. It's a relatively equal trade off. Or compare it too medic capping. Again, soldier may be able to avoid a few hits, but medic is fire proof, meaning it can't die as easily from pyro. A soldier can get 1-shot by a critting pyro in frenzy mode. However, a medic can't. It also has a huge health pool (6 steak) along with regeneration I. Not to mention the cobwebs, which can block entrances and slow enemy chasers. Now say we were to nerf soldiers mobility or/and armor. This would make it even worse at capping then heavy or even medic. Heavy is supposed to be a more midfield and defense class, while medic is supposed to be a support class. It'd be sad if soldier, the class meant for capping, was worse at it then heavy or medic. Soldier is supposed to be good at capping (even though it really isn't the best at capping). If you think soldier should be nerfed, you're wrong, because it's fine where it is.

    Originally I was hoping that the mobility could be nerfed, but i knew no one would agree with that since it's already been nerfed, so I thought the armor change could have worked. It's not really killing the soldier that's hard, it's mainly actually getting to the soldier on certain maps. Standoff V as an example , all the soldier has to do is jump off of the castle, and start running, the other 2 free classes cannot survive the fall, the medic can, but its not really a recovery class, so soldiers can have an easy get away with few people being able to get the soldier.
