Idea Credits earned for flag proximity

    Heres an idea. a credit a minute for being near a flag, when at home or away. Either team's flag. This would increase the likeliness that people would bother defending.

    I don't know how well it would work in practice, but I hope it could be implemented.

    No, players could just afk while doing their homework while getting credits, when the game ends, they just move back. Not hard.

    Actually yes, unless he uses a big host, then it's in multicraft-config files
    Or he could just download one of a thousand unnecessary plugins that do the same thing

    I mean how ****ing stupid are you to beleive ctf is homehosted..

    Brawl uses dedicated servers, not some crap multicraft shared hosts.

    There's a few issues with this idea:
    • Someone who's really really good at defending would get the same amount of credits from this as someone who is terrible and doesn't contribute to the team at all (or is even afk), which is unfair
    • Players who are roaming for defence wouldn't benefit from this, despite roaming defence being much better than staying in the flag room, unless you're a dwarf or pyro
    For this, -1.

    Asuming your definition of someone who really is good at defending includes peeps who get no carrier kills/recovs or even normal kills, yes, you are right.

    The carrier kills or recoveries is irrelevant to this idea - if we were to add this, it would benefit someone who's really good at defending equally to someone who is terrible at defending.

    • Obviously explained by sportyman56 and SoCool21 above that this would encourage AFKing
    • As well as SoCool's argument about roaming defense. An example would be archer that is getting many headshots but not being near the flag even though they are contributing to defense and therefore not earning extra credits.
