    Almost every wiki team is respected by their peers, with the exception of me. I do not get the point of this thread, seeing as the only reward we get out of editing the wiki is this, why are we unfit to vote on staff applications in the comment section?

    Sure whatever man I don't feel like arguing with you or going around in circles the only people that seem to be against the idea in this thread are you and feather, both wiki team members...
    Edit: add tchuckraider to that list

    You are literally saying that you think that normal community members should have access to replying when you say "a comment is more influential than a simple vote". Here you are clearly complaining about not being able to reply to staff applications hence you are salty that you can't post on staff applications so therefore you are the 'random' being salty that can't post on staff applications.

    If you don't like what a wiki team member says on an application either ignore them or use their criticism. The stuff @SquishyCalvin writes is 10x better than any of the crap the mods post.

    What harm does it do anyways? The only reason players that aren't a part of a team/staff, aren't allowed to comment on staff applications is to prevent the spam and to filter out the unreliable/painfully bias responses.

    I like how you attack wiki/build/team media team members for giving useless feedback and being "immature and biased" and then decide you don't feel like backing up an argument you made a significant contribution to.

    Funny how wiki team members (for instance) don't like their feedback being trashed when they go out of their way to make meaningful contributions. And no, it is not only wiki team members who are against this idea, as the ratings would suggest.

    Do you want me to find the multiple examples where wiki/build/media team feedback was by far the most detailed feedback on an application, and ended up making a big difference because of it?

    Here's one:

    @AmbitionZ_

    Here's another one:

    @Chilled_67

    And one more:

    @JayOG

    Anyway you've said you're done arguing. Sure, I respect that. Have to go take a final anyway. Just don't be surprised when the people who have been making the most of their (limited) perms disagree when you essentially call their feedback worthless and suggest they have no idea what they're talking about.

    Just saying - I'm against it, and I can't see a medal under my name...
    It's honestly a senseless reason to flame other community members simply because they actually do something useful for us.
    Can someone lock this before it goes downhill?

    Also, just apply for staff if you really want to reply to staff applications.

    They can't view denied applications.

    How are they against the idea in this thread, tbh i don't know why people don't like the ability that wiki team get to post on staff applications. You aren't even directly complaining that you want everyone to be able to post.

    I'm not salty about not being allowed to post on staff apps. I think only mods should be able to post on staff apps and I'm against everyone be allowed to post. I've already stated this but you obviously haven't read what I posted. Next time you respond to someone make sure you know what your talking about.

    Why though, why do you want only mods to post. You have no reason and no evidence.

    You were still unneccesarily salty.
    Why shouldn't Wiki team members be able to reply? They apply like staff, must act like staff, but often (@SquishyCalvin) write excellently detailed replies with many points and questions, rather than the very short replies some staff members use.

    The length doesn't matter in my opinion, only the content. 2 sentences can be effective as 200 if used correctly.

    Sure - but that's exactly why Munson's replies are so good - and I'd hate to have him have to resort to profile posts.

    I'm getting tagged a lot here but people like @Proterozoic, @_featherpaw_, and @tchuckraider (+ others I can't remember) deserve a lot of respect for the feedback they post. I don't think the comments in the staff apps section would be as interesting or meaningful without what they have to say, which is why allowing wiki/build/media team members to post is a good thing not a bad one.

    You're mentioned a lot in here because you're one of the wiki staff members who wasn't previously mod. This and you're well known for posting exactly what is on your mind and creating discussion around it. Chaos does the same thing, as do I. We're I think the only 3 wiki team members who actively post on applications and we were just about the only 3 wiki team members who really fought to be able to post on applications. Our reasoning was sound and I don't believe roke will actually revoke this privilege as we've done nothing wrong.

    In response to @Nimz1e, we spent a lot of time in the team chat discussing whether or not we should be allowed to post our replies on applications. The reason Munson and I are so frustrated with you is that you're simply saying we should not be allowed to post on applications, but you don't give any proof that us posting is harming the applicant, you don't explain why you feel it is a bad thing (aside from us apparently being more biased than mods (which I assure you is not the case, coming from an ex-staff member) and saying we don't know what it's like being mods (which also makes not a lot of sense because the role of a moderator is very transparent and most community members know what a mod's job entails)). I would love to have a discussion on this, but it seems that you think we are not helping the application process, even when we have shown to be respectful, active, and mature semi-staff members while posting our opinions on staff apps.

    Just going to clear up a misunderstanding. I did NOT fight either way to be allowed to post on staff applications, and although a lot see it as a privilege, I personally see it as a responsibility. If you've been allowed such a permission, you should be expected to write something meaningful. The reason I write responses to so many applications is because I found when I originally applied I found the advice to be rather short and unhelpful. By pointing out exactly where I think people are falling down, I hope for them to avoid the same problem.

    I don't really mind either way, I'd post on a forum profile just as much as I'd post on the actual thread. If you don't want to listen to my criticism, then ignore it. If you want something to constructively help you, then do so. The only real person you're hindering by refusing to let certain trustworthy players post on an application, is yourself (should you ever choose to make an application).

    and I think on that note we've basically summed up the entirety of this thread. I don't see it changing, regardless of what people say, and I've given my two-cents as well. Very nicely put. People can choose to read our responses or not, but they're there for people who want to read them and most of the time our posts are exactly what people need to hear.

    Sorry, don't need an argument and this is all I will say. Wiki team members are not or should not be in any way qualified to tell others what to do in staff scenarios. If they were "all" staff members once and know how it works, then my opinion would be different. To me, it's just getting a lot of players down hearted with it because they think people don't think they are good enough. Claimer worth mentioning though, yes I know there are some on wiki team who were staff. (This is my personal opinion and these personal opinions should not be argued or purged in any way because we are all right to a personal opinion)

    It's a fair enough opinion, and I can kind of see where you're coming from, but I still stand by my view - and honestly, I've never seen any wiki member reply to an app in such a way that it was rude or misconstrued or unhelpful or what-not.
