    If you want to rework a CTF map just contact a mod to copy a map for you.

    Which map would you like to rework? If I'm still able to get in touch with the creators of the map, I'll need to get their permission first.

    Out of curiosity is this a new rule or just like etiquettes? A few months ago a mod copied skyworlds for me and a few friends without the creators permission

    This has been a rule for as long as I've been on the staff team.

    Remind me, who made Skyworlds? It's a really old map, it may be hard to contact the creator and therefore it'd be free for anyone to use.

    Iirc studdmuffin (or something like that), and ah was just wondering so our copied map wouldn't be like taken away since the mod didn't ask for perms. Thanks :smile:

    When you copy a map you need permission from the owner if the owner is still active. It's both an act of courtesy and a rule soo ^^^

    Since studmuffin is no longer active, you should be fine.

    Some map creators have already given consent for reworks and don't need to be asked again or as @BrawlIsMyCity said, they are hard to contact and are skipped in this formality.
    studmuffin is part of the first group I mentioned, iIrc

    I believe this variation in particular was made by @Xelasi - if she gives you permission, you can have it. There are some other variations of Aquafus that you may be able to get - the creator was around recently but seems to have disappeared again.

    You can rework my rework if you'd like.

    I want to give you a heads up from past experience with maps that it will be really difficult to rework a top ten map and have people like it more than the original, but with enough external feedback it's possible.

    I'll need to talk to upper staff about ownership transfer if needed. You should be able to perm members and work on the map. If the map gets accepted into rotation the author will be updated. PM me if you have any further questions ^^
